Think of the pollution from the vehicles taking people to visit lavender farms.
Time for activists to glue themselves to the road outside lavender farms.
😉😁😁😁😁

They'd have to pay to get into the farm to have anywhere to park at the one near me. Useful source of income for the farm, I guess.

I don't think they'd be that keen on catching the bus that stops directly outside (I think the stop was specifically added about 5 years ago to give a more environmentally friendly method of getting there), as they'd then be preventing their own exit.

Well... Turns out I should have gone 4 weeks ago. The man selling tickets said it was end of season and a bit of a poor show... So I didn't part with my £8 and had some cake and coffee and wandered around the little lavender garden looking at past best lavender... Some of it smelled nice and we did see the biggest bee we've ever seen, it was probably an inch long 😱

Any way, I'll give it another go next year, not wholly convinced I will want to pay for the field walk, but not so put off I wouldn't return and see if it is better...

Jury's out tbh.

Worth it for the bees and cake then.

I HATE the smell of lavender.....I literally can't think if anything worse!!

Sewage? Vomit? Something dead and rotting? All better than lavender?

That is unusual.

HectorSalamanca · 25/08/2023 21:24

Never heard of them, but we have 3 massive lavender bushes?? , in our garden and can can spend hours just watching the bees collect pollen. There are 40/50 bees at any one time and I just love to watch them buzzing about from plant to plant, bush to bush. It's so relaxing and makes me feel all naturey lol.

CustardySergeant · 25/08/2023 21:30

Lots of mentions of sunflowers. Does anyone else hate them? Nothing to do with trypophobia, I just think they are the ugliest of flowers and just look like massive weeds.

00100001 · 25/08/2023 21:33

They just are tall and loomy and creepy looking. Well the ones with the black seeds are.

Thisgooddog · 25/08/2023 22:06

There is a sign up at our local sunflower maze place asking people not to take their clothes off 😂 naked sunflower photos are def a thing!

I didn't know this was a thing - I would go! I love the smell of fresh lavender

100% This

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 25/08/2023 22:53

@Thisgooddog
Perhaps I won't go then, I don't particularly want to see random people naked in fields, maybe it's just me?.

iago · 25/08/2023 22:59

A sunflower farm on Hayley Island put up a plea for visitors to keep their clothes on last week!

28BarbaryLane · 25/08/2023 23:13

IIRC, an appalled Irish farmer once evicted a topless Rihanna, mid-video shoot, from his field.

Was only lowly wheat, though, not lavender or sunflowers...

They are generally in the countryside and look very beautiful.
