Worst damage your kid has ever done

Currently counting down the days til the DC go back to school. The constant mess is fraying the ends of my sanity. What's the worst mess or damage your DC has ever done.

Worst for me is my toddler DC did a massive poo on the floor and when I went to get stuff to clean it up with they repeatedly rammed their vtech toot toot elephant through it. Absolute carnage and huge tears when I wanted to throw it away. No it was. Not the carpet but getting all the poo out of the elephant and sanitising it.

Bring on September

This might be outing but my younger brother & his friend shot one of my parents neighbours with a BB gun when they were about 9. They shot him whilst he was in his garden doing his gardening, from my brothers’ bedroom window!!! The neighbour is known to be particularly grumpy and he stormed round and my brother denied it absolutely which we all suspected was a lie. My dad was absolutely mortified and relations have been frosty ever since!!! (I hope this isn’t considered too serious an incident to share!!!! The neighbour was ok!!)

Not all the same child. 90% of it was…
joys of autism with developmental delays! On the plus side my calm breathing exercises are on point 🤣

You must be one Zen master mum 🤣🤣🤣

Sudo cream all over the brown leather sofa…

Pressthespacebar · 23/08/2023 21:25

My 4 yo has broken windows, shutters, pulled up carpets, smashed tvs, ripped wallpaper off, pulled furniture that was secured to the wall off the wall!

he’s just been diagnosed with adhd 😑

Years ago I was a very skint single mum
I saved £1 a week for well over a year to treat myself to a posh make up set
I'd had it less than a day-ds (then about 2) got his hands on it and painted the walls of my bedroom with it
I couldn't afford to repaint or replace the make up
I can still remember how upset I was over it

His siblings sprayed a full can of hairspray in the back of the tv a few weeks later
No tv for 2 years until I'd saved enough to replace it

Bloody kids

I think you have the most patience of all mums in the universe!!!!! If I was your friend irl and you told me about your make up, I’d have bought you a new set xxx

I try. Summer holidays has driven me to the edge I won’t lie. All my cupboards have been emptied, currently obsessed with his idea of ‘cooking’ so endless amounts of flour, sugar, herbs and spices being wasted all over my kitchen. I’ve just bought new child locks for the cupboards but suspect he’ll break into them sooner rather than later 🫣

Not damaged and kind of cute:

We used to let DS put stamps on letters - the peel off and stick very neatly in the correct corner , then he could post them . Usually cards .

He found my purse and my bankcards -and a book of 12 stamps .
He "posted" my bankcards/loyalty cards , beautifully stamped , down the back of the sofa.
He's 23 now and has slightly improved Grin

Butteredtoast55 · 23/08/2023 21:32

In a massive temper, my then 7 year old wrenched the entire door off the integrated fridge in our newly fitted kitchen. Even when fixed it never really shut properly.
Older brother, aged 4 and a precociously talented early writer, scratched 'Spiderman Rocks' into the fitted wardrobe doors. That was still there when we moved house 😄

Rosebel · 23/08/2023 21:33

My kids haven't done anything too bad (although 17 year old still brings up her 15 year old sister smashing her Disney princess bowl which was about 11 years ago).
My husband smashed a hole in his parents living room door when he was about 8 because his mum wanted him to learn his spellings. He also cracked the glass in their patio door by kicking it!

FluffyDiplodocus · 23/08/2023 21:34

DS broke the TV when he was about 3. Whacked a toy car into it for reasons unknown. I was really cross at the time! Thankfully he hasn't done it since.

HannahinHampshire · 23/08/2023 21:37

He may be in his early 30s now but my son as a teenager set fire to my neighbour’s hedge . . . He has thankfully lived a blameless life since then.

Tempjob · 23/08/2023 21:38

My autistic child has smashed his way through three beds, three mirrors, about ten lamps, doors, and so many chest of drawers we have lost count... Plus damage to light switches at £60 a pop to get the electrician out to replace.

AInightingale · 23/08/2023 21:40

Also broken TV. Swinging a toy microphone round by the cord at the time, must have been unleashing his inner Morrissey. This is the reason why, in any house with a child under the age of 5, modern TVs with their very thin, delicate plasma/LED screens are best mounted 6ft up on the wall.

My brother did this from his bedroom window unfortunately the neighbour was gardening and slug hit him square in the bum. To add insult to injury it was the school headmaster. 🙈

Cannotthinkofanametoday · 23/08/2023 21:44

When I was about 7 I closed the backdoor of my friends house, not knowing that the backdoor was hooked open on the double tiered sink drainer complete with all the washing up! Everything smashed 😱

meercat23 · 23/08/2023 21:44

Worst damage my DS (now grown up) did was to scrape through the pile of the long pile living room carpet right down to the backing. He did it by playing football in the lounge....with his Dad! They made the sofa the goal and the goal mouth was destroyed. They both still think it was a huge joke.

heartofglass23 · 23/08/2023 21:45

Too many to remember all!!!:

Neighbours broken window
Holes in walls needing plastered due to console controls being thrown
My favourite and irreplaceable mug
DVDs/cds
Coins etc put into numerous cd/video/dvd players
Ripped leather couch
Broken cot and travel cot
Liquid in keyboard
Smashed picture frames
Permastains on walls
Wooden furniture broken
Left tap on and flooded bathroom

I imagine there's a lot I've tried to forget!

We all have an inner Morrissey that needs unleashing at times, just not at the tv 😂

Ruined my pelvic floor.

I stupidly told my 7 year old (in a jokey way) that she destroyed my vagina. Ruining mummy's vagina was her favourite opening gambit for a while. Friends, family, dad's on the school run......

Last few months? 1 tablet, thrown down the stairs. 1 tablet jumped on in rage. One bedroom wall deliberately stripped of wallpaper. Bedding ripped out so new duvet. Used the tumble dryer door to climb up onto the counter, snapped it off. My bed, slants broken from jumping so often on it. Tv pushed over and broken. Two different curtain poles need replacing and rehanging due to Tarzan episodes. All I can remember for now 😑.

This sounds so hard, are they neurodiverse Flowers I'm tired just thinking about it all!

I'm going to save this thread to read on the rare occasions when I regret not having had children.

I've got kids and it's slightly making me regret having them and worry for the future Grin

Elderflower14 · 23/08/2023 21:54

Ds2 got the lid off a tin of paint and walked it all over the garden. Neighbour heard me yelling and got her son to get the lot off with his pressure washer.

Ffsmakeitstop · 23/08/2023 21:55

Ds was about 2 and we lived in a council house and the workmen were round painting everyone's doors and gutters. I said to the bloke doing ours not to leave his equipment in my garden overnight because I had little kids..
So next morning kids are playing in our drive and one comes to me and says "M" has painted dad's car. Omg my heart stopped when I saw it a 5inch brown stripe all the way from the front to the back including two alloy wheels.
The council had to pay over £500 to put it right as the bloke admitted I'd said not leave his stuff. It was 28 years ago but I'll never forget it.

Stood on a chair and pissed into the back of my new TV. Little fecker.

My oldest ds stood on a chair and pissed in the drawer of fridge 🤦🏽‍♀️ in his defence though he was sleep walking. That was how i knew when he was coming down with something, Used to sleeping walk then few days later bam. He also put a hole in the wall at the bottom of the stairs by going down the stairs on his sledge and banged his head off it, thankfully he was clever enough to put a helmet on first.

4yr old broke his bed when he was 2, took the mattress off and jumped on the slats. Nothing from the 15month. Yet lol

SpaceRaiders · 23/08/2023 21:58

Dd2 aged 19 months scribbled with biro on a super expensive designer leather sofa, yes I cried.

D1 aged 10. Blue sharpie on the one week old light coloured carpet.
