A Lighthearted one))

This morning we were looking to book a cottage for our family for this upcoming bank holiday. My husband did send me a link to the one he has spotted.

I did look at it and thought it was lovely and then I have started to read reviews. It was all good, till I saw a review posted by Lucy (I think it’s 6 review from the top down) As I was reading it, my eyes were getting wider and wider😳
I just have pictured the whole situation in my head 😁

I have not booked this cottage in the end and I went for another property. But a part of me now is forever going to be wondering about this mysterious lady Suzanne I'm never going to meet 😁

AIBU not to book it?😅

I can’t see the reviews, but I really want to!

gabsdot45 · 18/08/2023 22:04

That is so funny. Suzanne obviously had a party the night before that got out of hand

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 18/08/2023 22:09

The one by Lucy? It's bizarre, in comparison to all the others that praise how clean it is! Must've been some party if Suzanne was still sparko at 5.30pm the next day!

Looks like Suzanne is the host.

I'm jealous of your trip to the coast. Oh how I wish I had the funds to go for even just one night in a Travelodge!

TetrapanaxRex · 18/08/2023 23:05

Looks like Suzanne was knackered/drunk and fell asleep before cleaning the rooms!

How bizarre!

minipie · 18/08/2023 23:11

“well you’re here”

😂

Fromage · 18/08/2023 23:20

Anyone else getting Goldilocks vibes?

gabster33 · 18/08/2023 23:29

Blimey so many levels of wrong - as well as her drinking. She's set it up saying you have the entire home - but yet it should be shared space. Leaves you quite confused if you have a cottage without a kitchen or if you are staying with her. Funny how she doesn't respond to the bad reviews - yet does to the good ones and even mentions what someone put in a private review - all very confusing. Fairly steep price for what it is. I am sure you can find better.

CarmelfromNorthernRoundup · 18/08/2023 23:48

Twist - OP is the infamous Suzanne using MN and reverse psychology to drum up some business 😂😂😂😂

Usernamenotavailabletryanother · 19/08/2023 00:08

I like the sound of Suzanne. She ‘used to be a punk rocker’ apparently.

After reading this I went back and read the blurb again, I think quite a few people would miss that it’s bedrooms and bathroom only 🤔.

Oh, bless you.. I hope your dream come true soon. There was a time when all I could afford was charity shops, I remember counting coins to buy peppa pig toys for my daughter and then we had to walk back home from the town centre (about 3 miles) as we did not have enough for the bus ticket! She was only 4 years old :( she is 18 now, getting ready for her Uni, but she still does remember that day.
Our life has improved massively and these struggles are a long distant memory. The trip to the coast is such a treat and is very much appreciated, as I still do remember how poor we were years ago.. so I sincerely wish your circumstances change very soon and you can enjoy the see side. Hug

And plus it says entire place in listing. I would be very unimpressed.

Shallistayorshalligo · 19/08/2023 11:30

Ahahah!😂 How very true😂 and I am using MN to push my business up😂
sorry to disappoint, no, I am not Suzanne😄. But like I said, now there is going to be an unfulfilled void in me, as I was not brave enough to book her cottage and experience her hospitality

Personally I did find the whole review story very funny. Kind of a faulty towers thing😁
It looks like Suzanne services has improved since that review, as there are many happy customers again😄

£195 a night for two rooms and sharing the bathrooms with the host? I know this is what Airbnb was originally meant for but it’s a no from me.

The whole place was quoted around £730 for 3 nights together with £30 for the cleaning service and just over a £100 Airbnb charge 😬
in the end we have booked a different cottage right on the coast in Somerset via Sykes, I have paid just under 1K, but it’s in a historical and full of character building, 4 bedrooms (we did not need that many, as we are only 4 in the family) so we have invited my dear in-laws to join us😝So it’s a win-win. The only down side, I never get to meet the legendary Suzanne😁

Oh honestly you selfish cahhh 🐮

I wanted to hear all about Suzanne 😆.

wickermum · 19/08/2023 15:24

I can't stop giggling. The women fucked up badly but kind of 'owned it' - well you're here now... Grin

Refunded in full.

Horrible experience for the guests but what a party that must have been!

Haha, I think the best you can do is to book this cottage and enjoy the full Suzanne experience for yourself, I bet nothing can beat it😅

Sounds like Suzanne had an excellent party the night before!

determinedtomakethiswork · 19/08/2023 16:55

It sounds far more likely that Suzanne is an alcoholic.

NaughtyBoyGeorgeMichaelJacksonBrown · 19/08/2023 17:08

When I opened the thread I thought a 'passed out Suzanne' was going to be some sort of extreme Lazy Susan!

Enjoy yerself like Suzanne...unless you have guests.

Clymene · 19/08/2023 17:12

You should really report the listing OP. It's not an entire place at all.
