A Lighthearted one))

This morning we were looking to book a cottage for our family for this upcoming bank holiday. My husband did send me a link to the one he has spotted.

I did look at it and thought it was lovely and then I have started to read reviews. It was all good, till I saw a review posted by Lucy (I think it’s 6 review from the top down) As I was reading it, my eyes were getting wider and wider😳
I just have pictured the whole situation in my head 😁

I have not booked this cottage in the end and I went for another property. But a part of me now is forever going to be wondering about this mysterious lady Suzanne I'm never going to meet 😁

AIBU not to book it?😅

You should really report the listing OP. It's not an entire place at all.

It’s very carefully worded. I think many people would miss it, but it is there.

I’d be so furious if I arrived to find her passed out in her own filth. She’s bloody lucky that family were able to find something. They wasted a day of their holiday looking, and I bet it wasn’t as good a price if it was last minute.

Clymene · 19/08/2023 19:12

It's listed as an entire cottage. It isn't. I mean, it's patently obvious when you read it but it's still false advertising. It's a B&B

GoingToBeLessRubbishAtLife · 19/08/2023 19:25

It says ‘entire cottage hosted by Suzanne’ and under the facilities offered it says fridge and coffee maker but the actual kitchen is crossed out.

So you can store your cheese or whatever in there but you can’t cook or even go in the kitchen to make a sandwich.

I’d report it though as it’s very misleading and doesn’t state it clearly enough.

All that money and you’ve still got to go out to a restaurant or cafe for your evening meal.

Men just seem to gloss over important details whereas women want the nitty gritty. An ex met his friend for a drink to celebrate the birth of his first child... on his return from his night out I asked my ex for baby details, how was the mum, was he all chuffed at being a dad???...the only answer I got was ' we don't talk about stuff like that'.... I find that baffling !!!

Meanwhile wherever Janet is... its in a better place than duplicitous Sally.

Gettingfedupgrrrr · 15/01/2024 20:53

I don't know how I ended up on this thread ....apologies !!!

ComtesseDeSpair · 15/01/2024 21:01

I like to think that Lucy and her family might have been able to have a laugh about it afterwards. Sounds like a legendary party.

The listing title in the app and mobile version is very clear what the accommodation is: Private room in bed and breakfast in Axmouth, United Kingdom. 4 guests · 2 bedrooms · 3 beds · 2 shared bathrooms. Doesn’t mention entire cottage anywhere. Presuming the desktop version displays different information or something.

LegoDeathTrap · 15/01/2024 21:06

If you click on the reviews you can see Suzanne’s picture. I feel it adds to the story. I want to book this now without my family, for a solo drinking holiday with Suzanne.

I would imagine she's updated the listing since this was posted last summer.

I don’t know. I think she’s now found her feet.

MillicentRogers · 15/01/2024 22:05

I'm sure I've read this on here from the poster who made the review!

JennyForeigner · 15/01/2024 22:12

Passed Out Suzanne is one hell of a title for a novel.

SweetPalOMine · 15/01/2024 22:23

I tip my hat to Suzanne's 'never complain, never explain' attitude.
