Women's football brings out the entitled misandrists

On holiday and a table was booked by a woman. She started off complaining to the owner about the amount of places set, it turned out that she has got her numbers wrong. No apology for her rudeness.

She then told him he was to put the women's football on. He said the TV had been booked at whatever time but he could turn it on until then.
She said why what is on and he said the premier league's 1st game men's football, She let out a massive groan at the word men's football and told everyone to get up and leave!

This entitled imbecile reserved the table and tried to lose the place money as she couldn't get her way. Luckily the place is very popular so the owner didn't lose any money.

AIBU to think that all these demands that everything must stop because women are playing football are by the entitled types, who impose their views on everybody else. Personally I couldn't give a toss which sex is playing!

It was the absolute disgust and disdain at the words men's the groaning howl she let out was quite disturbing! Perhaps I'm wrong about that but it was extremely exaggerated.

I can see how a “groaning howl” could be very disturbing

arethereanyleftatall · 17/08/2023 15:29

Right. Rudeness aside. The fact that you don't care which sex plays aside.

Do you think it's right that if a venue has chosen to show Football, they prioritise one countries club football of which there are 100s of annual matches for men over the once every four years, biggest world event for football for women?

Can you remember if the last time the men reached a World Cup final, a pub chose instead to show a Blackpool vs Newcastle women's league match?

Can you understand the sexism which resulted in this ladies response?

seriouslysolonge · 17/08/2023 15:29

Misandrists absolutely exist!

Does she also scream at the Sistene Chapel?

seriouslysolonge · 17/08/2023 15:30

I think she was a werewolf yes.

And, if this was all reversed, do you think the men in the pub who couldnt watch the football World Cup because a woman's league match was playing, do you think they might be a little bit rude too?

Do you believe sea serpents are taking over the world out of interest?

seriouslysolonge · 17/08/2023 15:33

It's not a sports bar so both the men and women should not be so bloody entitled, whoever is playing a World Cup

If they hadn’t pre advertised anything and someone had booked and asked to watch that game then they were very much right to stick to that.

sometimes we go to a sports bar and will ask in advance if a particular sport was showing. If it was agreed that would be showed i would be annoyed it was changed for someone else complaints!

seriouslysolonge · 17/08/2023 15:33

I think she would howl loudly anywhere she didn't get her way to be honest!

Someone on the other thread is furious because the Royal Family aren't there. Grin

Had William made the journey to Australia, cancelling whatever is in his diary then he would be pilloried by the climate changers for flying, he can't win. Maybe he could minimise his carbon footprint by sharing a plane with the Queen of Spain though it would make for an uncomfortable return trip!

seriouslysolonge · 17/08/2023 15:34

She definitely wasn't a sea serpent no

The groaning at “men’s” was probably that she was sick of men’s sport always being prioritised, much as she was both unnecessarily rude about it and also it was misplaced as the place clearly had a TV booking system she was unaware of.

I'd love to know what the groaning would have been like if a men's world cup game WHILE THE TEAM WAS ON FIRE was stopped in favour of a women's non-world cup game. 'Groaning' would have been flipped tables and fighting.

I know you're trying to make a tiresome point OP, much as the woman in your OP was. But the fact is that sexism in sports is very much one way.

First prem league fixture was Friday night....which women's televised games were happening at the same time?

But it's absolutely fine when everything stops for the men's football?

I wondered about the timings but didn’t know enough about football to know!

seriouslysolonge · 17/08/2023 15:38

I think your point is more tiresome. I don't like howling growler, toddler tantrum hrown women, who reserve tables and treat our hosts like shit because they can't get their way.

The irony of your own unrealised internalised misogyny given your threads title!!

If this whole situation was reversed op, mens World Cup, England in final, women's league match showing and a man was rude in the same way to the owner....would you start a thread laughing at how entitled he was, or would you think he was right to be cross?

Giving the fixture timings your whole post seems unlikely, so it seems like you just made something up to complain about ... misandry? The plague that riddles society? Interesting.

I find the term "Lionesses" absurd when applied to football.

As for this woman I expect people were glad she and her low born and ill bred friends left.
