Dark chocolate Malteasers WTF?

I thought I'd have a little treat and bought some Malteasers but didn't notice they are dark and horrible with 30 % less sugar, the whole point of Malteasers is the sweet melt in the mouth malty pop not this bitter, sawdust creation. I know they aren't healthy but why do the "it's better for you brigade" ruin a good thing

Problem is, I didnt even know these things existed. Otherwise I would never have made the mistake.

Now I always check the packet very closely before we buy.

They are awful. I like Malteasers, I love dark bitter chocolate. The combination of the two just does not work. I bashed them a bit and added them to some chocolate brownies as I couldn't eat them.

The white ones are pretty wrong also.

I’m genuinely not sure how they could make it any clearer, it’s not exactly small print , it even has a big green circle at the bottom saying 30mpercent less sugar, and you can easily buy the normal variety. It’s absolutely fine for them to have a healthier option

I could easily pick those up thinking they were just normal maltesers because my entire life maltesers have been in a red bag and that’s what I would have focused on. I wouldn’t have noticed the other stuff on the bag.

I generally prefer dark chocolate to milk, but even I think dark maltesers are wrong! I slightly came round to them by the end of the bag, but not sure I'd buy them again.

If there are as unpopular as they sound, then I don't want to try them, in case I get addicted to them, just to watch them discontinued.

This happens to me quite a bit and I'm tired of being hurt like this.

Agree they are not good. Ours went uneaten once we had tasted them and that’s unheard of in this house.

I like dark chocolate and I like maltesers but these are a disappointment. I haven't bought any since.
