Dark chocolate Malteasers WTF?

I thought I'd have a little treat and bought some Malteasers but didn't notice they are dark and horrible with 30 % less sugar, the whole point of Malteasers is the sweet melt in the mouth malty pop not this bitter, sawdust creation. I know they aren't healthy but why do the "it's better for you brigade" ruin a good thing

I've always wanted to have naked maltesers. I used to love Horlicks tablets but not sure if you can get them anymore?

My mother used to feed me Ex Lax as a kid and dark chocolate just reminds me of it. The only exception being a Fry's Chocolate Cream and only because the mint overpowers the chocolate 😂

I bought a packet - ahem - DELIBERATELY (before I get ripped to shreds) and can confirm that they are indeed absolutely fecking minging. Even DS1, our resident human vacuum cleaner and polisher-off of rejected food, refused to eat them. They are not a treat.

Well, I must be in a minority of one as I really liked them! I bought a packet in Heron Foods (which for the uninitiated is where short shelf life or underperforming foodstuffs go to be put out of their misery😀)
I liked them so much I went back for another packet to scoff later in the week.
This week's treat was Praline Ritter Bars.

Thing is, you can't taste the malt ball over the shit chocolate. And you can't eat them like Maltesers, because the shitty chocolate doesn't melt, because it's probably as closely related to actual chocolate as I am to the Queen.

A while ago, I tried the Doisy & Dam vegan alternative. Now they were horrible.

I usually prefer dark chocolate (mmm KitKat) but they were a huge disappointment. They don't melt right.

They still sell the original ones though so this makes no sense. And the packaging was clearly labelled.

I think picking them up by mistake is understandable, considering the bag is predominantly red and lots of people just grab one with their shopping. The bag should be a different colour so that there can be no mistake. Shite brown would be my suggestion.

I get that, but what I mean is that there has always been only one type since 1937 and OP could be forgiven for not realising this new type has been invented and thus confusing the bags.

I picked one up by accident for a cinema trip.

When we took them out they are a really weird colour and I thought maybe they had gone off or something. And obviously the kids weren't happy.

But checked the packet and they were the dark type.

Absolutely disgusting.

A packet of maltesers doesnt last 5 minutes in our house.

This packet was sat in the cupboard for weeks before I eventually just chucked it in the bin. They were that disgusting.

They were a sub on my shopping delivery a a fair few weeks ago, I prefer dark chocolate normally but the 1 things Mars Foods cannot do well is dark chocolate. These were foul. They ended up in the communal kitchen at work and sat there for ages cos no one would touch them

Dark Malteasers are just rank. Dark Rolos are, however, absolutely amazing. (But I don't think they do them anymore.).
