Would you be a Space Tourist?

If you had the money, would you go on one of the Space flights?
I was watching the news coverage of the Virgin Galactica flight yesterday thinking that no amount of money would get me up in one of those things. Especially after that submarine thing. I definitely get more risk averse as I get older.

Great big NO

Fuckingfuming1 · 11/08/2023 10:27

No

RunningFromInsanity · 11/08/2023 10:27

Yes. I have always loved space since being little so the idea of actually going into space and seeing Earth from a distance would appeal to me.
I get quite travel sick though so it wouldn’t be pretty!

ChillysWaterBottle · 11/08/2023 10:28

Yes! 🚀

CaptainMyCaptain · 11/08/2023 10:28

If I had that much money I would do something more useful with it. I would rather give it away.

GasPanic · 11/08/2023 10:30

I would like to travel in space, but no, it would be too risky and expensive for me.

If it were free I might consider it.

Can't imagine it is too environmentally friendly either.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 11/08/2023 10:32

No. I hate the idea of dying in space!

girlfriend44 · 11/08/2023 10:33

My beloved would love to

Me I'm not sure.

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/08/2023 10:34

Absolutely no way. You couldn’t pay me to go to space. Big fan of my feet on the ground.

DH would love to, can’t understand it at all.

Peachespeachesohpeaches · 11/08/2023 10:35

No, not even if they were paying me.

Same for deep sea diving submarine nonsense. Nope.

JamSandle · 11/08/2023 10:35

Never in a million years.

Toottooot · 11/08/2023 10:35

Aye min.

Iamacatslave · 11/08/2023 10:36

No way.

golddustwomen · 11/08/2023 10:36

Not a chance.

NetballHoop · 11/08/2023 10:37

Yes but only if it wasn't so poluting.

HalloumiHo · 11/08/2023 10:38

Nope.I'm scared of flying as it is. And small spaces. And heights. And I get motion sickness.

Worst NASA candidate ever 😅

Lonelycrab · 11/08/2023 10:48

Big fat nope.

EnthENd · 11/08/2023 10:49

Yes, in a heartbeat.

The fraudulent deep sea company was an aberration. Nothing's perfectly safe but Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic appear to have competent engineers, they've done a lot of testing, and gone through approval processes. Blue Origin have the inherently safer design IMHO, for what it's worth.

Spaceflight and rocketry are demanding, and in virtually all countries they're heavily regulated (because space rocket tech is missile tech). A cowboy company is unlikely to get into space, and likely to get stopped by the authorities.

I would think twice before flying on a SpaceX rocket, but that's because Elon Musk is the world's richest dickhead, not because of any concerns about the rocket.

Bonjovispjs · 11/08/2023 10:51

Hell no, going in a plane is scary enough for me 😬

OldTinHat · 11/08/2023 11:20

No. Noooooo way, Jose.

glasgow1983 · 11/08/2023 11:25

Only once the kids are grown up into their own adult lives, and I've visited the places I'd love to visit.

msmonstera · 11/08/2023 11:29

Absolutely categorically very hard no. You couldn't pay me to do it.

DappledThings · 11/08/2023 11:36

Absolutely, no hesitation. It would be amazing.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 11/08/2023 11:39

I would. I'd have to take a sick bag though unfortunately!

TheKeatingFive · 11/08/2023 11:42

No. I'm too old for that malarkey. If it had been a thing when I was in my 20s, maybe.
