Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with your new boss, only 2 of us in the office, leaving a big jobby in the toilet every day sometimes twice a day and not making sure it flushes? I had to hold in the loo for 2 hours till I got home yesterday as it makes me boak! I made it clear I had been in the loo but didnt use the toilet so hopefully he goes next and sees it.. I've been double flushing for the last few weeks but let's say its not just a trace it's feckin disgusting

He puts the seat cover down! Who doesn't check it's flushed 😣

I had a poo after a barium swallow. It took me an hour and half to get rid of it. 😭

ThreeLittleDots · 10/08/2023 19:16

Good luck!

Thanks, it all looks quite positive but I still need to see out the shit till next month at least if I'm successful! I can't even believe this is a thing! I worked with 10 other firefighters and no-one left jobby in the toilet! It was a cardinal sin!

OP posts:
FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 10/08/2023 19:18

What else is he doing?

ThreeLittleDots · 10/08/2023 19:18

Urghh. I had a builder who used to do it in my own home. Luckily only temporary.

Timeforabiscuit · 10/08/2023 19:19

Tackling it head on is the only way, you could say facilities are getting annoyed with people not flushing (if you have them!).

We had a phantom pooer who would take a giant crap on the floor in the middle of the women's or men's toilets, it was a big open plan office with lots of people coming and going, no real pattern to it. So I think it could be worse.

However it remains the main reason working from home appeals still.

It's a tiny rented office with no additional backup unfortunately. It's me and him and thats it.

In all seriousness though, if you don't want an awkward convo, could you say "I think there's something wrong with the toilet, there always seems to be a poo in it, is it coming back up the pipes? Shall I organise a plumber or is it something you know how to fix?"
Then see if he can mysteriously "fix" it (by flushing from now on).

This

Fbshe · 10/08/2023 19:27

Just poo or tissue too? I’m just wondering if it’s not flushed at all or if it’s staying.

BravoMyDear · 10/08/2023 19:28

TregunaMekoides · 10/08/2023 19:03

Personally if it was just the two of us I would just face it head on and say "unless you intend to provide a harpoon and breathing apparatus to deal with your brown whale, can you please check the jobby has set sail before leaving the cubicle?".

Skirting around it when there is just you guys makes it all the more awkward.

Absolutely make this into a sign!

There is no one else that ever comes into our office%building its a tiny business so it it would obviously be me. Maybe I just have to raise it. If I get a new job I definitely will anyway but I'm reluctant to raise it now as we both sit in the same office and its so intense.

It's floating poo lots of it! Sorry if it's tmi

OP posts:
Pinkitydrinkity · 10/08/2023 19:37

Grim. But if it’s floaters maybe he has flushed and not realised they haven’t gone done??

A new manager joined my office and was leaving awful awful skid marks all over the same toilet every day so they just shut that toilet for a bit. Then opened it and left loads of cleaning stuff in it 😂

nadine90 · 10/08/2023 19:52

Is there anywhere nearby you could go to the loo? If so I would come straight out after discovering said jobby and say "I'm sorry, I'm just nipping over to x as the loo seems to be blocked and I'm bursting".
I'm seeing a few sexist and inappropriate comments that make me feel a bit uncomfortable. I just dont know what you do.
Is it just the two of you in the whole company? So no-one senior to him?
Long term - get out asap. Short term - play stupid. Every sexist or inappropriate comment, tell him you don't understand and ask what it means, keep saying you don't get it until hes forced to acknowledge that he's being sexist or inappropriate.
Good luck, hope you get out of your shitty job soon xxx

Whatajokr · 10/08/2023 19:54

@TenOhSeven @savethegorgeousbees

I live as far south in England as you can get, and the reason I clicked the thread is because I knew it would be pooey fun times.

I was brought up in the 70s calling them jobbies. School friends called them the same.

Don't you Scots try to be claiming this fabulous word!

PlanningTowns · 10/08/2023 19:55

Can you come out and say that he has left something in the toilet?

Someoneonlyyouknow · 10/08/2023 19:56

Don't know if I would be good at doing this but could you go to toilet and immediately come back out and say "You haven't flushed the toilet properly. (Again)" Hopefully if it is accidental he will start to check. Or get to the toilet before him?

Is there a cleaner comes in at night? Can you enlist them/pretend they have complained?

MrsCarson · 10/08/2023 20:13

A sign on the back of the door so he sees it when he sits down, make it about the harpoon and add, Your mother doesn't work here, flush your own jobbies.

LlynTegid · 10/08/2023 20:26

I'd ask if you can work from home, when he asks, tell him that there is not a clean toilet to use.

I am with those who think he is doing this to avoid using the toilet at home in such a manner.

Phantom poopers are worryingly common. See poo smearers too. My friend had a phantom toilet poo smearer in her office and it turned out to be this middle aged woman who worked there! Whole thing was mad.

Firefightress1 · 10/08/2023 20:40

Thanks everyone there really is just the 2 of us all the time and no cleaners or outside agencies ever in the office. I'm not confident enough to bring it up in such a forward manner ive never been in this situation before. The nearest public loos are 20 mins away athough I used the supermarket loos yesterday as i was bursting from waiting to go!

That is hilarious! What happened to the phantom pooper after she was caught? I am dying sniggering here btw 🤣🤣🤣
