To think this hangover isn’t normal

I went out last night. First time in a very long time. I drank 5 or 6 gin tonics- my friend was on the bar and free pouring them, so they were pretty strong.

I had a small bowl of chips for dinner which has maybe contributed.

I felt quite drunk, then suddenly very drunk. My neighbour drove me home and I don’t remember getting in.

I have been vomiting all day. I can’t even keep down water.

I‘m used to drinking but haven’t ever had a hangover like this.

Am I just an idiot?

Gin did this to me. Ok it was on top of half a bottle of wine. I was at home and some people came round with loads of booze. The wine was nice and the gin delicious. I went and lay on a pile of pillows at 10pm and spent the next day shivering and being sick and feeling terrible. I didn't drink again for a very long time.
I now ignore people who try to encourage more alcohol consumption. I am a lightweight and happy to be so.

Thanks all. I was still being sick at 6pm. The anti vomiting pill seemed to do the trick and I managed to keep down two slices of pizza. Brushed teeth, finally took off make up and had a shower which made me feel more human!

I‘ve had a good sleep and just feel really depressed today. Stupid and ashamed. DD is 7 and was very worried about me. She still remembers me getting hammered at a wedding last year. Hopefully this will be a turning point.

I had one of these hangovers in April from lots of wine on an empty stomach. Never really experienced one like it before, all the vomiting. I'm never sick with drink.

It's 4 months later and I've only managed the odd glass of wine since then, and I still feel a bit queasy.

Random side note- are anti-vomit pills a good idea? It's a normal process for the body to get rid of poisons etc. I would think keeping that in would be worse in the long term. 🤔

I get what you’re saying but when it gets to the point you’re vomiting up nothing / bile then I guess they can’t hurt.

if you keep being sick because of low sugar it's a good idea.
