Are my uneven eyelids obvious?

I've attached a few photos.
2 of the photos are from when I was in my mind/late 20s so I don't think this is necessarily an ageing thing (I'm early 30s now)
I went to a beauty clinic and an aesthetician 'kindly' pointed it out to me (I never asked her to)
I admit I'd never noticed it before but that's now given me a bit of a complex.
Just wondering if it's obvious, I feel like it is. I know no face is 100% symmetrical but I feel self-conscious.

Nope, I only noticed because you called them out. You’ve lovely eyes, that’s what I noticed first. Are you wearing liquid eye liner?

Loafbeginsat60 · 05/08/2023 21:38

Mine are the same. Dh said he never notices

mishmased · 05/08/2023 21:41

My 3 kids are similar to yours. An osteopath pointed it out in my then second child and we realised it is the same with my first. Most people don't notice unless I mention it. You have very lovely eyes.

Gummybears6 · 05/08/2023 21:42

Thank you.
Hopefully others don't notice it, I don't know why that woman had to tell me, it was very rude, probably just trying to make money out of me I suppose.

I can see it in 2 of the photos, but only because you mentioned it. If you hadn't, I don't think I would have noticed at all. In any case, it doesn't look bad so I wouldn't worry about it. 🙂

Gummybears6 · 05/08/2023 21:43

Thank you.
I'll try to just ignore it.

You can literally see how beautiful your face is just from your eyes. You're gorgeous! Wouldn't have noticed at all xx

Gummybears6 · 05/08/2023 21:44

That's very kind, thank you :)

Ireallydonotknow96 · 05/08/2023 21:45

No, I don’t think so at all. First thing I noticed too was your lovely eye colour!

Weloveflowerss · 05/08/2023 21:46

Wow you have beautiful eyes! And no I wouldn’t have noticed, very subtle and only because you have just your eyes in the pic did I notice and that’s once you said!

ArcaneWireless · 05/08/2023 21:46

All I see are striking eyes.

Gummybears6 · 05/08/2023 21:47

Thanks so much!
Not even sure what colour I'd say they are.

OP posts:
LivingitLarge · 05/08/2023 21:48

I don’t think anyone would notice that in real life.

Sparklesocks · 05/08/2023 21:50

Not at all!

not to be cynical but the aesthetician probably only pointed it out to try and sell you further treatments…

Neyon · 05/08/2023 21:53

Gummybears6 · 05/08/2023 21:43

Thank you.
I'll try to just ignore it.

I wouldn't even do that if I were you, it's not worth a second thought, there's nothing at all wrong with your eyes even if there are little differences. If you haven't before, try googling perfectly symmetrical features - there are a few mock-up examples and it's quite unnerving!

Sunnypiddle · 05/08/2023 21:56

Wouldn't notice in the slightest, honestly.

X6hfyib4ms · 05/08/2023 21:58

No, really, not noticeable.

You have beautiful eyes and I suspect that you're a very attractive woman so please don't worry about it!

Gummybears6 · 05/08/2023 21:59

Thank you again. I do feel more reassured.

Kaibashira · 05/08/2023 21:59

In the kindest possible way, this is ridiculous. Why do you think the "aesthetician" might have pointed it out? Yes, that's right, to upsell.

Next time, stare into his or her face and say, "yeah, not sure yours are either".

In principle I am all for people doing what they need or want to feel good (although I think beauty culture & expectations are fundamentally toxic), but let's be clear, pointing out a "flaw" to be "fixed" is rude, obnoxious, and assumptive. If it didn't bother you before just ignore it.

Think about it like this: what would you say to your child or to your partner / sibling / close friend who confided in you that "somebody I don't really know just told me there's something wrong with my face / body, what should I do?" What would you say?

Curseofthenation · 05/08/2023 22:00

My wedding make-up artist made me aware of my uneven eyelids! I never noticed in 28 years on the planet 😆. I now even them out in the same way the make-up artist did with slightly thicker eyeliner on the larger eyelid. It annoys me that I now notice it but I wouldn't worry OP. You have lovely eyes!

Kleptronic · 05/08/2023 22:00

Eyes are supposed to be sisters not twins. Twins would be uncanny.

Rtc12 · 05/08/2023 22:03

She will have been trying to make money off of you. I opened the pic then forgot what I was looking to see, and couldn't see anything wrong. You have beautiful eyes, so definitely just ignore her! Tbh I think my eyelids are the same, and it seems alot of other people too from PP.

MBailey99 · 05/08/2023 22:04

Nor noticeable. I have the same, apart from you can see the top of my iris on one eye and not the other. Does my head in as it really is noticeable.

Cleaningfail · 05/08/2023 22:04

Lovely eyes! DH has uneven eyelids. Look around at people you know over the next week or two, you’ll find it’s common

CloverInCrimson · 05/08/2023 22:11

Your eyes are lovely OP, I wouldn't have noticed had you not pointed this out. An aesthetics practitioner told me unsolicited that it was a shame my lips weren't perfect, I have a small freckle above my top lip I really hadn't noticed before, now I can't unsee it. Not a big issue in the grand scheme of things but I do think she shouldn't have commented really.
