Ha ha I have no words on this one. Just mental.

Hotcuppatea · 05/08/2023 12:59

She sounds off her rocker. The world is covered in germs, including her clean house. She might as well lean in to it.

Anyway, I shower at the gym because it saves on the gas bill.

Badbudgeter · 05/08/2023 13:02

Totally crazy. I shower at the gym all the time. My gym changing rooms are always dead and it’s separate cubicles so I take my time too.

Merryoldgoat · 05/08/2023 13:34

The bit that resonates for me is the ‘inside outside clothes’ caption - I saw it and thought ‘I bet she’s got Caribbean heritage.

I’ve spent years explaining my ‘house clothes’ to people. 🤣

Merryoldgoat · 05/08/2023 13:34

She’s totally wrong about the shower.

Sparkletastic · 05/08/2023 13:47

She's borderline phobic. I've voted in support of Marek ☺️

Maggiesgirl · 05/08/2023 13:48

How is it possible to spend 45 minutes in the shower!

I get in wash, wash and condition my hair, shave my legs and am out in 15 minutes! Is she just standing in there!

Sorry that's an awful lot of explanation marks but my god!

I would imagine that this also includes her looking after type 4 hair. So perfectly reasonable in her case.

caringcarer · 05/08/2023 15:34

What's type 4 hair?

NeverDropYourMooncup · 05/08/2023 15:57

caringcarer · 05/08/2023 15:34

What's type 4 hair?

She has Caribbean heritage. Think about what type of hair she may have - she could have a coily or kinky hair subtype (if you watch videos online, you'll often hear about 4a, 4b or 4c). Different subtypes of hair need different levels of care, products and time spent on them.

Whereas some people may be able to stick their head under the shower and be done in five minutes, somebody with long 4c hair, for example, would need to spend significantly longer caring for their hair and scalp.

There's a lot of information available on the internet, but this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andre_Walker_Hair_Typing_System might help explain some of the concepts.

I’m not too fussy about germs, but I do think that when you get in from outside, you should change your clothes before going into the bedroom or sitting on the couch.

Candice is unhinged. Poor Marek. Run for the hills, Marek.

Good grief!

I think she needs a new dictionary that defines the word fussy. It appears to be missing in hers Shock

someonethatyoulovetoomuch · 05/08/2023 16:09

Made me think of the thread ages ago from the woman who was horrified her husband laid on the bed (not even under the covers) in his “outside” clothes. Actually I think about that every time I sit on my bed in my clothes and wonder if I’m a terrible dirty person, or if she was a bit unhinged.

whatwouldAnnaDelveydo · 05/08/2023 16:10

Of course you can't lay on the bed in "outside clothes"! And after you get the tube, you're not clean anymore.

saraclara · 05/08/2023 16:10

Even five minutes in a shower is a long time, really, especially if you're a man with short hair. I'm pretty sure I don't spend that long in the shower if I'm not washing my hair or shaving. And I'm perfectly thorough and clean every inch of me. But I bear in mind water use and it's not relaxing time for me. That's what the occasional long bath with a book is for.

We frequently say 'five minutes' as if it's nothing. But put a timer on when you're cooking something for five minutes and it's an age!

Has a journalist moved up market from the Daily mail?

I live in rural Scotland so no concerns here about the tube or city dirt! But when I did live in London, I still sat on my bed without getting fully changed if I needed to.

Has a journalist moved up market from the Daily mail?

It's a weekly feature - housemates/family put their petty disputes to a public vote. ~they're usually quite fun.

I was going to post that! 😂 Change your clothes before sitting on the couch?- my children would never stand (sit) for it.

dieselKiller · 05/08/2023 16:54

The tube is filthy. You should definitely change clothes and shower after being on the tube.

There’s nothing wrong with having indoor clothes and outdoor clothes. It doesn’t make you phobic nor mad. It’s just like taking your outdoor shoes off when you come inside: normal. Broaden your minds, people.

I would rather broaden my immune system though. Can't comment about the tube but probably a vast majority of us don't use it, so it's not really a problem. Although if you consider outdoor clothes the same as outdoor shoes...do you ask visitors to take their clothes off? 😯

CatsSnore · 05/08/2023 21:31

I am not germ phobic but would never ever sit on my bed wearing clothes I had worn when being outside. Yuk!

I was so sorry for the man that week, forced to put up with coffe-tea because his partner was...mean? Lazy? Had to be right? I couldn't even fathom why she was resisting his perfectly reasonable request and gaslighting him with all that taste test stuff

BellsMoon · 05/08/2023 21:45

It's not just a Caribbean thing. Inside and outside clothes are a feature in a lot of cultures.

I can sometimes change from inside to outside and back again quite a few times in a day. Takes less than a minute. No biggie. I also wash my hands after coming in to the house. Always have done.

It will, therefore, not come as a surprise that we have no outside shoes inside rule.

Barrell · 05/08/2023 21:45

How does the outdoor clothes / indoor clothes thing work when they have visitors? Are visitors not allowed on the sofa? Or do they ask them to change? Or have a specific visitor sofa that they Dettol to death as soon as they leave?
