To never want to go to Costa again since they released their controversial new advertising cartoon character?

Thank you for the link @Market1. I'm so sorry for everything you have been through Flowers

My friend's wife had a double mastectomy and she doesn't have two little near scars like the ad. She was butchered. It saved her life but how anyone can glorify that is beyond me.

The staff in my local Costa are lovely and were very kind to me and toddler DD when I dropped my drink when I was heavily pregnant and a male customer shouted at me but I don't buy from them again.

jeaux90 · 03/08/2023 06:46

It's a disgrace. I mean I don't remember the last time they did a "body positivity" campaign about old people or disabled communities.

If it's a choice between dying or a double mastectomy I doubt most women see it as such either.

Cafe Nero it is then!

I work for Costa and it's been going downhill since coke took over.

YES! The utterly ruined the milk alternatives.

Their soya milk is fucking grim.

I used to go there regularly and now we never go in.

Thankfully a Starbucks has opened up so I get my coffee there now.

YANBU. I don't want to see tits of any kind when I'm drinking my coffee. When will all this nonsense stop?

So you agree with Costa that breastfeeding should be done in the toilet? You won't see this advert, it's on the side of some vans, just for pride.
I don't like it because knowing a trans man who has opted to have his breasts removed, the surgery, recovery and as said, scarring, isn't as depicted, this trivialises it and I doubt many trans men do take their tops off in public and the most I've read about only rarely do at home.
Should post op trans men never be depicted? That's a different debate. The term woke has been weaponised and those using it as an insult, or to shut down one side, need to read up on its origins.

All these companies-they're only interested in finding new markets.

At the expense of old markets!

When I go to any retail park, you can almost guarantee seeing mums with pushchairs and prams in coffee shops. Can’t say I’ve ever seen the same number of trans people in them.

Just by the nespresso pods and a machine.

It tastes the same and you'll save a fortune.

mrlistersgelfbride · 03/08/2023 15:09

I don't get it. How is this helping their image at all? I think it's in poor taste. Hope someone got sacked for that as it's not a good move.
It's Caffe Nero for me now, always preferred their stuff anyway.

I'd boycott them, but I never go there in the first place 😂

Same here! Shite coffee!

I'm not sure turning to Nestle products is an ethical way out of it!
