Nothing very exciting, just a local shortened term for the school he attended. It's a private school in a city where there are very few private schools so its very well known. A fair percentage get into the local university and tend to stick together or mix with other private educated kids. I'm sure all lovely people (!!) but to ordinary folk they all seemed a bit too cool and cocky for their own good. I suspect this is an unfair prejudice, I have met many decent people from there over the years so don't want to be mean about it.

I know what you mean actually, it's the same in Glasgow and when you go to Uni the private school kids all stick together, I'm still friends with some and they are nice but a bit of divide always remains and they all marry each other and then send their kids to the same private schools!

Not only is Cillian beautiful and talented, he also has the most seductive voice and accent. Honestly I could listen to that man read the phone directory. Apart from the lack of height he is perfection.

Now listen I don't want to give you all galloping fanny flutters but as a public service announcement in case anyone isn't aware you can listen to Cillian reading a 'sleep story' on the Calm app. Imagine that, listening to him as you drift off to sleep...

My daughter went out with a posh boy from the other posh boy school. He was very annoying.

I agree with Andrew Scott. My dh has a selection of colleagues from all over Ireland. They tend to look like the principal in Young Offenders rather than the handsome actors.

I’m sure I was being entirely unfair (plus the backstage people of my era mostly regarded the actors as irrelevant windowdressing who lost props and tore costumes.) And it was their loss, @LaMaG !

I should say I’ve thought CM was extremely good in the Enda Walsh things I’ve seen him in on stage more recently, though I’m not keen on the plays. And I think I’ve met his wife via EW’s brother, who’s a friend of a friend. Ireland’s not that big…

Ah well, my DH is only about 5"6 (about the same as me) and absolutely gorgeous, so I'm set. I seem to have a thing for shorter men.
