I heard him interviewed once and he said an Irish person had come up to him in London and said 'Are you Cillian Murphy?' When he said yes, she said 'Your eyes aren't even that blue!' 😂He always comes across really nice and decent.

He’s gorgeous, incredibly talented and lovely to boot. Everyone who’s worked with him has had nothing but great things to say.

Ive been obsessed ever since I found myself gawping at him in Inception - Leonardo DiCaprio looked like an awkward gnome in comparison.

It's funny reading all the Cillian love here!

I was in UCC (university) with him - briefly as he left after first year. We had a small interaction as we were both members of Dramat (the university's drama society) and in a play together. He was already acting royalty & I was very shy so barely spoke to him but he was lovely & just very normal.

He had a band at that time too, not that I really remember it, but I know he was part of the cool Cork gang & I was very nerdy.

I still kind of think of 1996 version of Cillian Murphy when I see him in anything, I find it hard to see him as a heartthrob / super star!

Love this! I feel like this about Paul Mescal. I agree he looks gorgeous on screen. Offscreen & IRL I think he is so 'Irish' and looks nothing. He was visiting a school in Maynooth, I happened to be nearby - he looked like any random GAA head to me!

Not a Jonathan Rhys Meyers fan at all. Just looked him up again, and still nah!

I tend to forget I'm not the Only Irish Person on MN!

Cork & Cork circles are so small & interconnected, without doubt we'd have a connection very quickly (I'm not from Cork tho but a lot of connections since UCC days).

Des Bishop was also part of that set - now he was different, very American & not that nice (I think he improved subsequently). He's another person who has improved hugely since college days!

Well that does narrow the search down a bit although I googled cork men and this guy popped up, not quite what I was expecting but apparently he is single and one of Cork's treasured bin men!
