Exactly this. I mean the actual names of those investors, or owners of the Index funds. Wonder how many Tory MPs are enjoying their dividends from what they’ve allowed Ofgem to do?

Index funds are mutual funds which anyone can buy- they’re not some super secret investment vehicle used to disguise ownership. They will have many thousands of individual investors and also many institutional investors ( eg pension funds) some of the owners of whom will be individuals. If you have any sort of pension you are quite possibly on the list yourself. Basically it would be a v long list if you included beneficial owners rather than direct owners and many will be on there because they bought a tracker fund which has low fees because it just buys the FTSE 100 or whatever and doesn’t actively pick shares. Those people probably couldn’t name more than 30 shares of the 100.

I’m clearly not being obvious enough: I wonder how many conservative MPs have significant investments in BG/Centrica.

Thats whati meant. Not people who are just trying to cushion their old age and are not knowingly profiting from over inflated prices.

Inflation - BOE (in Tory pockets) keep raising the interest rates. This directly hits the little person.

This isn’t halt inflation, or Brexit, or Covid. This is profiteering, with probably a healthy portion of insider dealings.
