To find unpainted toenails gross?

I wouldn't dream of wearing sandals without unpainted toenails. I just think it looks horrible. Am I being weird? I don't care what anyone else's feet look like though tbh.

This is true! I have manky toenail fungus. I’ve tried everything to get rid of it but it never leaves entirely. I paint my nails to hide it. It’s really gross!!

I have no idea as I don’t look at other people’s feet. I don’t paint my own toenails, and so wear sandals so I suggest you don’t look at my feet ever. Not that I care one jot what anybody else thinks!

Surely you know the entire population of the internet doesn't live in your neighbourhood?

I don’t mind painted nails but I like them short and neat.

Unpainted toenails I don’t mind as long as the nails are clean, neat and pink and not thick and horny with lots of hard heel skin.

Long artificial nails are awful.

I am sure those with painted toenails have clean feet, just as those without may have clean feet. I just prefer a "less is more approach" as I get older. I also wear very little makeup, now I am in my fifties. A bright lip or red toenails don't suit me any more.

i would never wear sandals without paining my toenails either
it looks so much better and it takes about ten minutes. Just make the effort!

But I don't think it looks better @LuckySantangelo35 though I like clear polish.

Maybe I’m weird but I’ve never noticed anything under my toenails (fingernails, yes, but not toenails). Looking after the skin at the side and round the nail is part of my pre-painting session 😊

Anyone who has long false toenails needs to get in the bin. They truly sicken me. I have such a visceral reaction.

I saw a girl recently with huge, long French tips sticking out of a pair of sliders. Vom.

I said some people. Some.

I am willing them to soak their feet, strip off the thick, claggy, coloured polish, trim and file and attack the nails with an orange stick to remove the skin and filth.

The rub in a bit of cuticle oil.

I prefer painted toenails and mine have always been painted as far back as I can remember.

Healthy, buffed and shaped toenails can look okay but how often is that the case? Painting them stains the nail and then you have to keep painting them. Don't get me started on men's toes, I try not to look.

Totally agree. Unpainted toenails look horrible on women. I remember being in a gym class in PE when I was about 12 and the teacher (think Miss Trunchbull) making some sarcastic comment about me wearing bright pink nail polish, she didn’t tell me off but I could tell she thought it was inappropriate. Anyway I don’t think I’ve gone more than about an hour since then without having nail varnish on my toes. I often look at men’s feet and think ‘those revolting nails would look so much better if they were red’.

I'm intrigued by how many people have lost a toe nail. I was always in "always painted" club and last year covered up a half grown out manky toe nail. When I eventually removed the polish, the nail had remankified itself so I was left with a band of good nail. So this year I've refused to paint it. And in France, on holiday, I noticed hardly any French women had painted nails.

They are TOE NAILS.

I'm sure there is a direct correlation between people who paint their toenails / people who watch Emmerdale / people who fly with Jet2.

Or those of us who danced for years, buggered by their nails before gaining a MA and having watched Emmerdale or been on any kind of package holiday. Do try and be less of an idiot, it’s not becoming of a person of your standing.

I can’t believe there are so many people who find unpainted toenails revolting. The world is insane. They’re toenails, ffs! How can anyone even care about their own(as long as they’re healthy/clean), let alone anyone else’s?
