Nose on the wall

DH made DS face the wall earlier then put his nose on the wall just like he was made to as a kid.

I'm not happy but apparently his parents did it and he's "fine". I think it's outdated, humiliating, and cruel!

Yes, DS is very challenging. Exceptionally smart (gifted) with ASD and suspected ADHD. There's been a lot of change lately and his behaviour is off the wall. He doesn't stay still (at home), he hits me, he barely sleeps, and has regular meltdowns. BUT I think DH has lost all perspective!

@SliceOfCakeCupOfTea do you stand the whole time? How would you feel if it had to be your nose,not your forehead? How would you feel if you were made to do it, even if it was your forehead, and you couldn't move,change positions etc if you wanted/needed to?

I've already accepted that my view is irrelevant here, why do you want to dig into me?

@SliceOfCakeCupOfTea it's honestly not a dig, just pointing out the difference between what you find comforting and what is happening to OP's DS.

I actually get it, I can ease headaches by putting my forehead in the wall or pulling my hair upwards. If the thread was about a parent deliberately pulling their child's hair instead , no one would would find it ambiguous, despite my preference.
