Because everyone should have right to a bank account, business's/non personal are completely different.

Why? Why should a lawful business be rendered unable to function through lack of access to banking facilities?

This ‘dangerous precedence’ was set years ago when banks closed Muslims’ accounts. Muslim individuals, their partners and children, Muslim organisations, Muslim charities…

You mean the ones who was found to be funding terrorism?

It is quite funny that the Guardian (and the terminally online) was so desperate to find a conflicting position they found groups which have (or at the time) openly supported terrorist groups or had proven links to them, ignoring the fact that Muslims have their own bank and very strict rules on borrowing and lending,,,

At least there is Gina Millar who has come out, and a few in the past around the GC issue, but to try and drag this story down into the gutter of IDPOL is typical Guardian tier 'critical thinking'...

Nope, plenty of were NOT found to be funding terrorism, including children, organisations and charities including the World Uyghur Congress and Interpal.

Some had their accounts removed from pressure of foreign governments like the UAE who themselves have dodgy links to funding terrorism and money laundering.

And Muslims have “they’re own banks”…

Well Farage can find his own bank then. He’s got enough for a Coutts account.

If it’s good enough for minorities it can be good enough for him!

What the difference between the money you may hold in your personal account and the money you may hold in your pension plan?

@StefanosHill.. Absolutely, this is the worry but we don't deserve this.

Labour are letting everyone down. We deserve proper parties.

Hilarious yes.

I wonder if the members of the reputational risk committee will be looking for new jobs; they were so shit at assessing risk that trying to get rid of NF has done more damage than quietly doing nothing and now they are quite publicly have to hold out an olive branch to a "reputational risk".

FFS this is why ordinary people are sceptical of experts sometimes.

They were so bad at their one job.

Then again reading the document and letter they all
sound really poor at basic stuff

Qbishy · 01/08/2023 10:16

So now Coutts has managed to piss everybody off - supporters of Farage, and also the people who hate him and were glad Coutts had cancelled him.

Well done that bank!

If I were the new boss first agande would include a "here is your package and nice knowing you".

I have to prove that it was direct human error not that the rules and training failed. But I also dont want to risk having them around long term to make the same (or other public) mistake again.
