Coutts say “we don’t want your sort here” and Nigel gets upset.

Yeah, that went well for them didn't it.

FOJN · 27/07/2023 14:36

It's easy to see why the 2008 crisis happened when this is the level of integrity and competence required to be CEO of a bank. We have halfwits in charge of organisations which have the power to bring the global economy to its knees, it's frightening.

Barbadossunset · 27/07/2023 14:41

Still silence from Sir Howard Davies. He’s already been sacked from one highly paid position for malpractice - I wonder if he’ll survive this one.

Peter Flavel, CEO of Coutts, has now resigned!

Plus major newspaper orgs like the Guardian struggling to work out that 'it's not just about Farage'. No shit Sherlock.

It's about time major employers/organisations/service providers were forced to take the DPA seriously.

Yes, where do they go now with their

"Coutts actually did nothing wrong, you know!" and

"A capable woman was BULLIED out of her job!!!"

😂

Chersfrozenface · 27/07/2023 15:06

"A capable woman and a capable Aussie were BULLIED out of their jobs!!!"

Doesn't have quite the same ring to it, does it?

Dunno, can we go for xenophobia when it's a white male Colonial?

Drenchend · 27/07/2023 15:07

@FOJN agree

Drenchend · 27/07/2023 15:51

Has bbc news even mentioned this live?

Swrigh1234 · 27/07/2023 17:24

Someone should call Rachel Reeves and check which minority has been bullied on the occasion?

They really do just make it up

Foreigners, I should think.

"Something something Australian... something something Farage... something something xenophobic... something something Brexit!"

StefanosHill · 27/07/2023 17:34

Can you imagine if they get in and sweep all
this crap under the carpet

Wrong think and you’re out, backed by Labour

Barbadossunset · 27/07/2023 20:42

Very surprising reaction by the New Statesman.

Swrigh1234 · 27/07/2023 21:20

Rachel Reeves does not know what a woman is but is arguing for Rose to let off the hook on account if her being a woman. Does anyone know how this works. Maybe a clever ‘progressive’ can explain this one.

Qbishy · 28/07/2023 08:03

Wondering how all the screaming progressives are feeling about this, today?
A democracy can't function if political parties can't get bank accounts.
(Although of course if it had been Farage's political party, no doubt they wouldn't have a problem with that...)

Gina Miller's political party bank account to be closed

Monzo initially refused to tell the anti-Brexit campaigner why the account was being shut down.

Something tells me they'll be content to throw Miller under a bus too so long as they can bathe in a lovely warm bath of hating Farage.

Heh. So amusing seeing Reeves get this so wrong.
but then I remember we’re in for five years of this finger-wagging BS and it stops being funny

So they refuse to tell GM but tell the BBC straight away?
why is every fuckwit in the country suddenly running a bank??

Chersfrozenface · 28/07/2023 08:11

On a broader note, the Monzo
spokeswoman said: "Like lots of banks, we do not accept any political parties as Monzo Business customers in the same way that we don't currently accept trusts, clubs and a range of other organisations."

The story also says "Ms Miller said a number of banks had turned down an application for her political party to open a bank account."

So if this is widespread, how are political parties, clubs and other organisations supposed to operate without banking facilities?

This is not her personal bank account, but one for her political party which is against monzos rules , it really isn't the same at all.

I suspect GM has been told why she's just trying it on.
