So sorry, I don’t think this is the correct place to put this but I wasn’t sure where else to post, does anyone know what the pill is attached? I can’t find it online anywhere, I’ve tried the pill identifier websites but it doesn’t seem to exist? I’m really worried as I found it in my teenage daughters bedroom and they were hid away. She’s been acting up lately so super concerned. Does anyone know? She isn’t home right now.

what is this tablet???

MDMA

Maddy70 · 19/07/2023 15:15

Doesn't look like any illegal drug I have seen

Angrymum22 · 19/07/2023 15:17

Amphetamines? Used recreationally to stay awake and also as appetite suppressant.
Classic physical sign if under the influence is dilated pupils. Also they can’t stand still.

Maddy70 · 19/07/2023 15:25

www.drugs.com/imprints.php?imprint=a+8+0

It's a recreational drug

Ws2210 · 19/07/2023 15:28

Take it and find out

Maddy70 · 19/07/2023 15:29

Actually it doesn't look like the one on the link.

If she has hide it she doesnt want you to find it. Could it be the morning after pill?

Or could be ecstasy

In either case it's not the end of the world. Just a good conversation

This 😁

You could do what my sister did when she found a splif in one of her daughters rooms. Working on the principal that if it was illegal they wouldn’t say anything she smoked it. I would remove the pills but keep quiet.
Just to add but please don’t take offence, if it is MDNA I would be concerned. DS was spiked with MDNA earlier this year. I ended up in A&E with him after he put his hand through a window while he was in a paranoid anxious state. We reported it to the police at the request of school ( found out later that there had been a number of 6th formers spiked). The officer who dealt with it told us that there were 3 reasons individuals were being spiked 1. for sex 2. robbery 3. spite/fun

SkullDiggory · 19/07/2023 15:45

I’m a pharmacist OP, I would not identify a tablet brought to me by a member of the public. This is because:
A) Despite my job, I can’t confidently identify all tablets by appearance. In fact, there are many I’ve never seen outside the foil packaging.
B) There is a question of confidentiality for the person who is taking them.

I hope your daughter is able to talk to you and it doesn’t turn out to be anything illegal/harmful.

Custardslices · 19/07/2023 15:46

Ask your daughter?

Who knows on a Internet forum. Could be anything.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 19/07/2023 15:49

EerieSilence · 19/07/2023 14:06

It's a contraceptive. Please have a chat with her about the proper prevention of STDI (halving a pill will decrease the functionality, it prevents pregnancy but not the STDI).

What is STDI? Are you just adding the I to STD?

Halving a pill would have no impact on those, they are contraception not contra-disease/infection.

With respect mdna just makes you "fluffy and nice". No need to alarm the op. It's also unlikely to make anyone paranoid so it's likely it wasn't just mdna. It's normally roofies that are used to spike for sex etc

Maddy70 · 19/07/2023 15:57

Toothiepegg · 19/07/2023 15:32

This 😁

Probably what I would do

Just take 1/4

JhsLs · 19/07/2023 16:00

I would take them and hide them. If they’re not illegal/unsafe then she’ll ask if you’ve seen them or moved them, e.g. a contraceptive. If they are illegal/unsafe, at least you then have them and she doesn’t. Won’t stop her getting more though and hiding them better next time…

UsernameNotAvailableArghh · 19/07/2023 16:01

Tell daughter you took it because you had a massive headache and couldn’t find any paracetamol… then wait for her reaction

You are extremely naïve if you think people will give away perfectly good drugs on mass like that, it's very rare. On the other hand claiming you were spiked when you're too wankered to hide it from your mum/teachers or accidentally hurt yourself, that's very common.

britnay · 19/07/2023 16:02

Would your local police be able to identify them with drug test kits?

Izzabellasasperella · 19/07/2023 16:09

Amazon sell drug testing kits.
I would say that is recreational drug. Probably speed or MDMA..
If I were in your shoes I would talk to your daughter, don't go in all guns blazing. No police involvement either.

Anyone remember a similar post a few years back and the pill turned out to be a Smint?

Simonlebonbon · 19/07/2023 16:26

Maddy70 · 19/07/2023 15:57

Probably what I would do

Just take 1/4

Many years ago, I'd have taken it also 😂😂
Probably all of them!

These days I don't even like a shandy!

crazeekat · 19/07/2023 16:27

i'm sure it will be a recreational drug.
there's only one way to find out.

i don't mean take it.

just speak to her. it could be hers, her friends, a boyfriend. i doubt it's the pill, it doesn't look 'professional' enough for a prescribed pill if u know what i mean, i just hope she is honest with u and then u can have an open chat
together.

A8 appears on a list of ecstasy pills here https://erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_images_gallery1.shtml

Ecstasy was my first thought

TheWayoftheLeaf · 19/07/2023 16:31

Does it have an M on the back. Likely Ritalin. People without ADHD sometimes use them as a study drug.
