So sorry, I don’t think this is the correct place to put this but I wasn’t sure where else to post, does anyone know what the pill is attached? I can’t find it online anywhere, I’ve tried the pill identifier websites but it doesn’t seem to exist? I’m really worried as I found it in my teenage daughters bedroom and they were hid away. She’s been acting up lately so super concerned. Does anyone know? She isn’t home right now.

That looks like ritalin to me, which can be taken recreationally.

As PPs have said, just talk to her. She may get defensive/upset but stay calm, easier said than done I know!

OneMoreCookieMonster · 19/07/2023 16:37

I'm going with Ritalin.

Mdma and ecstasy are fairly soft pills (or they were back in the day) I do t think you could easily halve one of those

You are extremely naïve if you think people will give away perfectly good drugs on mass like that, it's very rare. On the other hand claiming you were spiked when you're too wankered to hide it from your mum/teachers or accidentally hurt yourself, that's very common.

You do realise that A and E are more than capable of distinguishing alcohol and MDMA don’t you?

Apart from the fact they have wildly different behaviours associated with them they can be screened for by blood/urine samples.

Ask her?

I’m a pharmacist OP, I would not identify a tablet brought to me by a member of the public. This is because:
A) Despite my job, I can’t confidently identify all tablets by appearance. In fact, there are many I’ve never seen outside the foil packaging.
B) There is a question of confidentiality for the person who is taking them.

I hope your daughter is able to talk to you and it doesn’t turn out to be anything illegal/harmful.

I’m also a pharmacist, was going to say exactly this!

I think they were suggesting it’s more likely a teenage boy took md knowingly, not that A&E can’t run a substance test.

Yes, of course they are. one look at somebody's pupils will tell them that. That's why when you end up in A&E wankered on MDMA you claim you were spiked!

You are correct. DS had been given Rohipnol not MDMA. I get MDMAs mixed up with MOAIS which are heavy duty antidepressants. The CID officer we spoke to did say that the spite spikers are using MDNA on others for entertainment.
DS had classic Rohipnol spiking, was completely out of it and has absolutely no memory of the evening. He is still bumping into people who fill in the gaps. They all comment on his behaviour/condition because it was so wide of his normal social self. He can drink and regularly does but as soon as he crashed through the door I knew something was off.
When he checked his online banking app on the way home from A&E ( he was completely lucid by the time we got there, never seen anyone sober up that quickly) he had only had 3 pints. The pubs don’t allow them to buy rounds without checking all the IDs and the bouncers wouldn’t let him into the nightclub.
Spiking for entertainment is a real problem locally. My BIL is exCID but still works in intelligence. The reports of spiking have gone from 1 or 2 a month to 30+ a week. It is only a matter of time before someone dies. The local police are actively investigating every report but suspect the ones coming forward are the tip of the ice burg.
BIL contacted the Officers who are investigating the problem and they organised blood tests so we knew he’d been given Rohipnol.

My first guess something illegal
