Heavy rectal bleeding and tummy pain - pics in comments (TMI)

I have Crohn’s disease with previous bowel surgery

I’ve been in a flare up for months with high inflammation

this past week I’ve been bleeding every day quite heavily, dark blood

my stomach is really hurting, have taken pain killers but not helping

saw doctor today, I’ve been fobbed off by the hospital so many times and explained that to her. She said my heart rate is very high and that im ‘teetering on the edge’ of things becoming bad, but that i could wait to see how it goes over the weekend but if I feel myself getting any worse go to the hospital, she has done an urgent referral to gastro & IBD team

pain is horrible, can’t get myself to the hospital as toddler is asleep and don’t want to disturb him.

asked my mum for advice and she is telling me the hospital will do nothing I’m just in a flare, I’ll be sitting there ages and there’s no point (she’s made me feel like im being over the top)

I’ve attached pictures of what’s going on. Just wondering if there’s anyone on here with IBD that could advise? Or anyone who’s been in this situation?

don’t want to waste time & I am in a flare but this feels different

if you’re squeamish don’t look!

Also she has likely conditioned you over the years to seek her approval for everything, and if you don't then gaslight you with these sort of abusive comments and behaviour

bleedingbum · 14/07/2023 20:20

Yes my mum is a complete narc always has been! Definitely relate to the seeking approval, I tell myself not to do it but always do.

they’ve taken me through to the emergency ward & put me on a bed with a heart monitor on as it’s currently 129

Good heaven's OP. Forget weather, sleep patterns, toddler's routine or whatever else. Get yourself to a hospital now! This looks awful and you must feel horrendous.
I have a friend with the same condition and it is no laughing matter.

1980to1989 · 14/07/2023 20:27

Just wishing you all the best OP.
Glad you have made it to the hospital and are being seen - I really hope they can help.

As others have said, in various words and phrases, your mum is not (being) very pleasant - I hope you have other people are you, your partner and good friends, who are supportive x

StrawberryAmaretti · 14/07/2023 20:27

Glad you are getting the care you need op, sounds like you made the right decision.
I'd take this as a wake up call and re-evaluate your relationship with your mum, as it sounds like she doesn't have your best interests at heart.

SwirlyShirly · 14/07/2023 20:30

I'm so pleased to see you're in the right place and it's getting taken seriously. Wishing you all the best.

NotAllPets · 14/07/2023 20:33

Hope you feel better soon OP, your mum sounds so uncaring towards your situation, I’m so sorry. Glad you have your partner with you. Fingers crossed for you.

My mum has just come to look after DS whilst I get dropped off and she’s come over calling me a stupid hypochondriac

WTAF,!!!
She's a stellar human being isn't she!!🤬🤬
OP get yourself to hospital.

Floralnomad · 14/07/2023 20:39

I’d be having a good look at the relationship with your mother when you are feeling better . Hope you get the treatment you need quickly 💐

DyslexicPoster · 14/07/2023 20:43

Ask your dp to protect you from your mums comments. Ie he doesn't need to tell you, and you don't need to talk to her right now either. You will never get what you need from her. Focus on you.

BlackFlyChardonnay · 14/07/2023 21:01

I'm so glad you've gone to hospital. Your mum is bitch.

7eleven · 14/07/2023 21:02

I hope you’re ok. Your mum is an abuser. Protect yourself and your child from her.

Justontherightsideofnormal · 14/07/2023 21:05

Keep us informed, my opinion is you have definitely done the right thing....... hope it's a positive outcome xx

mathanxiety · 14/07/2023 21:06

Wishing you well.

Sorry your mum has used this occasion to abuse you. You don't deserve that treatment from anyone.

Jupiter15 · 14/07/2023 21:07

Your mum is being awful! I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this when you are so clearly unwell. Hope you get the treatment you need and feel better soon.

blahblahx · 14/07/2023 21:25

Hope you're okay, wishing you well! You're in the best place x

StellaJohanna · 14/07/2023 21:39

Hope you get fixed up and feel better soon! 🌻

ReliantRobyn · 14/07/2023 21:44

Glad to went to A and E. Absolutely the right thing to do given your history, passing large amounts of blood and your heart rate. Take care.

TinaTeaspoons · 14/07/2023 21:46

DH has ulcerative colitis and this is what the toilet looks like when heavily flaring. His doctors have always said it's time to go to A&E when that happens. Hopefully some steroids will help get it under control. Bless you x

bleedingbum · 14/07/2023 21:49

Can’t ge the pain under control I’ve had oramorph and 7mg IV morphine so far blood pressure is high and heart rate now around 115 - 120

a few hours to wait but my tummy feels like it’s being blown up by a pump I can’t explain it

morphien isn’t doing anything other than making me feel drowsy

TheChosenTwo · 14/07/2023 21:56

Oh bless you, I’m so glad you went to hospital and please take some of these comments re your mum on board when you’re home and feeling better again. Don’t dwell on it now, have you got something to keep you occupied? If you’re feeling drowsy could you have a little nap?
Hope you get well soon 💐

Raspberri · 14/07/2023 21:57

Sorry to hear that you're still in pain. Make sure that the staff are aware of your pain levels and the feeling of pressure in your stomach.

Tallulahbelle1038 · 14/07/2023 21:57

I have UC. I’m 32 and had it for 10 years. Get to hospital sweetheart and get some help xxx

Tallulahbelle1038 · 14/07/2023 21:58

Sorry just seen you’re already in xx

FlopsiesAngrySandwich · 14/07/2023 22:02
