Ridiculously petty things that you can’t even say out loud

I’ll start.

This has been bugging me all day but I can’t say it out loud to anyone as it’s really not that bigger deal.

Parking is a huge issue where I live, not many people have ORP.

My elderly neighbour got rid of her car a few years ago, we are quite close and she has a driveway, so it was agreed that I could now park over her driveway meaning I am pretty much guaranteed a space right outside my house, rather than having to park halfway down the street.

My lodger has now begun using this space, she works from home a lot too so it’s there for days now sometimes. WAAAaa 🙈🙈.

I can say anything as I will sound like a selfish loon.

Putting stock out then? How should they do it please?

Oh dear @Clementineorsatsuma . You're doing it again!

One for pedant's corner:
You don't suffer from mental health. You suffer from mental ill-health.

Definitely! We all have mental health that we need to nurture and protect. Some people have diagnosed conditions that are a part of poor mental health.
A bad day doesn't mean you're depressed.

Wns5ae · 15/07/2023 08:42

It's more the annoyance that my friend doesn't say anything to her own child. Like this is normal behaviour in someone else's house!

Gizmostar · 15/07/2023 08:47

'I'm asexual.'
Nobody cares, love.

The dropped curb is over her driveway, it make’s absolutely no difference whether I park over the dropped curb or park on her driveway 🙈

Dropped kerbs are absolute vital for power wheelchairs which cannot go up and down normal kerbs. There are very few dropped kerbs but drivers can get very insulting to the disabled who can't get their chairs up onto the pavement, so are having to use the road until they reach the next dropped kerbs.

Please, please - leave dropped kerbs clear for their intended purpose!

Double parking on a main road i.e. reducing two usable lanes to one at rush hour.

Fuck off, and then fuck off some more you selfish, arrogant cunty wankstain of a person.

Btw, I curse you as I pass. So, yeah .....

That STD you caught? Me!
That failed job application? Me!
Those neighbours from hell moving in? Me!
Your arch enemy winning big on the lottery? Me!
That guy you fancy asking your sister out? Me!
Water outage just as you've shampooed your hair? Me!
Falling on your arse in the pub? Me!
The people in front of you receiving a massive flight upgrade? Me!

Grrrrrrrrrr.

😁 🤣 😂

The word is 'reiterate' NOT 'realliterate'. Thank you so much for not only saying it several times a week, but also for typing it into the chat box of country wide Zoom meeting using the Chromebook I was logged into, so now half of the population of T-Level tutors think that I'm thick as shit!!!

Ouch! So frustrating!
I had a very senior manager from a prestigious company that I was pitching to, who kept saying illegibility instead of eligibility. Aaaaarrrrggghhh!!

The intended purpose is to allow a car to access a drive or a garage. That’s why the owner of the property has to pay the council for permission to install one. The benefit anyone else derives from it is a bonus.

I get irrationally annoyed by that one person on every course that always has something to say. Whenever the tutor asks a question, they're in there sharing their thoughts and always asking questions.

"Ok, we'll end things there for today, unless anyone has any questions or anything they'd like to share?"

"Well actually, I'd just like to share my reflection on today's topic and ask a question about the assignment that's due at the end of next year"

Course you do, Ian. We all knew you'd have something to say. Just fucking shut up for once in your life! Let someone else speak, you don't have to talk in every single bloody class. You're a pain in the arse!

Except he's not a pain in the arse, he's merely being an active and engaged learner. He's contributing to lectures and sharing his experiences. He's making the most of the course and trying to get as much out of it as possible to benefit his personal and professional development.

But by god, it pisses me off!

Me - Ok, we'll end things there for today, unless anyone has any questions or anything they'd like to share?

In my head - Ian, don't you fucking dare. I'm going out tonight and wanted to finish early. Oh good he's putting his stuff away. Oh no, he's thinking. Oh no. Don't you fucking dare Ian. Ian, no!!!

Ian - Can I just say....

Allwelcone · 15/07/2023 09:01

Dh turning over noisily in bed to face me and BREATHING like feeeeee feeeeee in my ear.
He's asleep. He can't help it. Still makes me boil with raaaage

EthicalNonMahogany · 15/07/2023 09:03

DH, when it's morning, we OPEN THE CURTAINS. When it is night time we SHUT THE CURTAINS. It takes 50 seconds and it's not fucking difficult!

And don't get me started on pulling up the blinds nicely so they aren't crumpled.

Soporalt · 15/07/2023 09:06

I've not really noticed the teeth and tongue thing in photos, but what's with the leg crossing? Do you need a wee?

Autoflower · 15/07/2023 09:07

Telling my autistic DS that I couldn’t give a flying fuck about his special interest and to ask him to at least pretend once or twice a year to show an atom’s worth of interest in my (admittedly dull) life!

Riverlee · 15/07/2023 09:08

People were moaning about where I used to work on Facebook recently. Petty, but cheered me up.

NewHere83 · 15/07/2023 09:09

Oh no, I'm Ian!! 😂😂

Not the point of the thread but Dusty is correct it is illegal to park on or over a dropped kerb in front of a driveway and you could be fined!

Even if you park across your own dropped kerb you can be fined. Some councils are less ‘enforcey’ than others on this and in some areas you need to register a car with the council that has permission to park like that even if it’s your own. Other councils/ police will only enforce it if there is a complaint.

NIparty · 15/07/2023 09:12

I do this as I'm self conscious about my very obvious and massive over bite and wonky bottom teeth

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 15/07/2023 09:18

@Clementineorsatsuma , I don’t see why they ‘can’t help it’. My dh sneezes like a bloody bomb going off. All they have to do is not voice it, in other words not YELL!! at the same time.

usernother · 15/07/2023 09:20

Anyone who responds to 'How are you?' with 'I'm good'. Good at what ffs? Well behave? And don't get me started on people who say 'my bad'. That makes me want to punch them.

My OH has two sneezes. One he does in public. And the one he does to annoy me at home, the shouty, very loud sneeze. People definitely can help it.

ReliantRobyn · 15/07/2023 01:51

I think you are imagining they are saying "gaslighted", no one says that.

Yes they do, and it isn't incorrect.

mogernator · 15/07/2023 09:31

I get the rage if i see a range rover. Bonus points if it's white. Double bonus points if it's parked over two parking spots.

immergeradeaus · 15/07/2023 09:36

If you have hiccups, then shut your mouth. The sound is disgusting, and you can choose not to allow it to resonate loudly among the people you’re with with one simple action.

Minniliscious · 15/07/2023 09:41

@2ndmrsdewinter
My SIL does this as well on the family thread 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄 No one ever responds 🤣 Narcissism at its best. Why on earth do people do this??

I also hate certain colleagues (jobs worths) making a massive deal over something incredibly minor like a typo which is easily rectified.

My SIL suddenly having every illness going. Every family doo that we go to, it’s all she ends up talking about - lighten up!! My eyes glaze over and most people just totally zone out.

SockGoddess · 15/07/2023 09:44

So glad to be no longer tortured by exP’s stupid sneezes! The yelling! The ridiculous performative build up! The fact you would think after two he was done and then he’d spring another one…. Ugh. And knowing you would be such a bitch if you ever said “CAN YOU NOT FUCKING SNEEZE LIKE THAT!!!”

Re “Ian” who always has to say something in classes, OMG yes. You will also find Ian at poetry readings and book festival events, residents committee meetings and school parents’ associations.
