Ridiculously petty things that you can’t even say out loud

TheSlowRush · 14/07/2023 17:45

I’ll start.

This has been bugging me all day but I can’t say it out loud to anyone as it’s really not that bigger deal.

Parking is a huge issue where I live, not many people have ORP.

My elderly neighbour got rid of her car a few years ago, we are quite close and she has a driveway, so it was agreed that I could now park over her driveway meaning I am pretty much guaranteed a space right outside my house, rather than having to park halfway down the street.

My lodger has now begun using this space, she works from home a lot too so it’s there for days now sometimes. WAAAaa 🙈🙈.

I can say anything as I will sound like a selfish loon.

I'm older than you so no, I won't move out of the way of your enormous group as you take up the whole footpath. In fact, I may even drift into the centre of the footpath, because watching you all part as I walk towards you gives me a sense of petty pleasure I can't really explain

Davros · 14/07/2023 20:19

My council will tow away a car in a disabled bay without a badge, not even a designated one. You have to report it though, I would, I have

justaweenamechange · 14/07/2023 20:20

The way someone packs the dishwasher is a window to their mind.

Jongleterre · 14/07/2023 20:23

Why would you not say to the lodger.

"I have an agreement with the homeowner to park my car there, unfortunately you don't have permission so you will have to park elsewhere.'

The end.

OldTinHat · 14/07/2023 19:12

That allocated disabled bay outside my house is registered to me, my house, my car, my blue badge. It is not for you, cunting ignorant neighbour with three cars, to park in and leave one of your fucking cars in for weeks at a time. Oh, and you may wear a nurse's uniform so I assume you work for the NHS, but neither you nor any of your other householders have a blue badge. So you should know better!

So I'll continue to drive around and either park 20mins away (I can't walk anywhere near that far) or pay £££ for a parking permit in a car park half a mile away which is also too far away for me to walk to. Or park and have to pay for a fucking taxi to pick me up and drop me home (also in reverse to get my car). Or just not go out and miss medical appointments of which I have three a week.

AAARRRGGHHHHH!!!

This isn't petty. Tell them to fuck off out of a disabled space

determinedtomakethiswork · 14/07/2023 20:26

You have more rights than your lodger. The agreement was between you and the neighbour not with the lodger and your neighbour. Tell the lodger she needs to move her car immediately.

TokyoSushi · 14/07/2023 20:27

If I have to hear once more about the 'range' on my colleagues 'EV' I will combust!

Almahart · 14/07/2023 20:27

My next door neighbour does this big cartoon ATCHOOOO sneeze. Really gets on my nerves

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/07/2023 18:11

some guy over the road from me and a few doors down has taken to parking his car outside my house. All the time. Even though his own drive is empty. It’s a black Subaru with a whale tail and it’s ugly AF. I get disproportionately enraged about it. It’s not even opposite his own house so I have to look at the hideous thing and he Doesn’t. It’s making me angry just typing this out 😡

@thenewaveragebear1983

you need a neighbour/friend who has a car that's rarely used. Wait till he moves it, install the other one!

puddingandsun · 14/07/2023 20:31

I know my worth and I would've stopped smiling at/ greeting you the first time you blanked me if it wasn't for my child's friendships sake. I get that you've decided I'm not important enough to get to know even though we see each other twice a day.

tanstaafl · 14/07/2023 20:32

Don’t let your child EVER stand in a shallow shopping trolley as I feel I must follow you around the store waiting for the inevitable sudden stop to save their life as you look at your phone.

( and breathe )

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 14/07/2023 20:35

I don’t care about work outside of work hours. I really don’t care about work during work hours, as I am just waiting out my last 7 shifts before moving on.
so please stop messaging me about every little thing that happens there - is what I want to say to a co worker who thinks I’m their best buddy.

MichelleScarn · 14/07/2023 20:37

CC4712 · 14/07/2023 18:19

I get irrationally annoyed by people using a shopping trolley as some sort of walker and lean their boobs and body all over it. They are also inching it down the centre of the aisle- so you cannot pass either side! 😡

Oh same, and the glaring at you if you dare to try and pass them!

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 14/07/2023 20:38

To ask people to take their shoes off when they come into my house 😭

Davros · 14/07/2023 20:40

Stop whistling

Please photo and report. Despicable behaviour!

PenCreed · 14/07/2023 20:42

Davros · 14/07/2023 20:40

Stop whistling

YES. Just the worst noise, on a par with people audibly chewing.

NoHallSouth · 14/07/2023 20:43

My opposite neighbours let the weeds grow outside their house, their drive is messy and they park their work van outside (breaking a covenant of our estate). The rest of the street is lovely. My house looks over fields on all other sides.

I hate that their van, weeds and mess is the view from my kitchen table though!

They're perfectly nice people, none of it clearly bothers them, but it bothers me!

Oh god yes,my DP does this.

His brain's going to come flying out of his nostrils one day.

NoHallSouth · 14/07/2023 20:46

@Davros I actually do tell people to stop whistling. My misophonia cannot cope with it and it pops out. I think it's rude to whistle loudly and inflict it on everyone else.

I also hate people with loud shoes - men who put those stupid tappy bits on their soles or women who need to re heel. They walk rhymically and relentlessly and it drives me nuts.

dontchaknow · 14/07/2023 20:46

Plenty of spaces in the car park. So why do you have to park your monster of a car so very close to mine? So close I can't get in via the drivers door, I have to fart about climbing across from the passenger side. Happened yet again today....with the added bonus of both sodding sides.

PostnatalBaileysEmbarassment · 14/07/2023 20:50

C- if you want anything to change, then when your boss asks what is the matter, bloody well tell him instead of stropping and sulking or what can he do?

S- I'm aware that you have the luxury of prioritising your own needs 100% of the time, but I do not, please stop being passive-aggressively disappointed in me.

Thanks 😊

nadine90 · 14/07/2023 20:51

The way Aldi seem to insist on their staff constantly pushing massive pallets around the tiny aisles making it impossible for more than one trolley to navigate.

CC4712 · 14/07/2023 20:52

Very petty- yes, but these absolutely wind me up:

SIL- Spend less money on your tattooed eyebrows, and get that hairy, facial mole cut off. Its SO distracting, that I zone out when you speak because I'm staring at that thing 😝

MIL- speaking whilst eating food and having bits flying out all over the place is revolting. Its pronounced COVID BTW- not 'Having the COVIT!

Work colleague (NOT friend)- Don't message the group chat at 6am on the weekend for your pointless, non work related rubbish- then complain that someone woke you at 8am the next weekend! Don't post 10+ photos of your holiday randoms views/people- I DON'T CARE!!!!
