Their nail colour? If it’s bright yellow or black or green? Etc

OP posts:
yellowsmileyface · 10/07/2023 08:08

No.

HarveyDanger · 10/07/2023 08:09

I base assumptions on people who have the popular fake nails craze thing going on… no matter the colour.

I think their nails look so weird!

Yes I know I’m in the minority

Squirrelsnut · 10/07/2023 08:10

I might think they were cooler than me, or had the time to adorn their hands. That's it.

LolaSmiles · 10/07/2023 08:10

It depends what sort of assumptions.

If someone has funky nail art then I'd think they were probably quite creative.

If they'd just painted their nails green and they were neat then I'd probably make no assumptions. It's just a colour.

FoodFann · 10/07/2023 08:11

Colour no. Style yes. Great big long square diamonte encrusted monstrosities look tacky in any colour.

A classic manicure can look elegant in most colours.

TheGrimSqueakersFlea · 10/07/2023 08:14

If someone had bright yellow nails I would assume they like bright yellow.

Swrigh1234 · 10/07/2023 08:14

Not the colour but the style can be quite hard to ignore. The big long fake extensions look tacky and horrible. As with most big long fake extensions on anything like hair and lashes.

LordEmsworth · 10/07/2023 08:17

I really hate these drip feedy bollox posts.

Why are you asking - what is the real question you want to ask?

10HailMarys · 10/07/2023 08:21

The days when any deviation from pink, red or nude was considered unusual are long gone. It’s totally mainstream to have any of the colours you mentioned. I wouldn’t think anything of it.

This. I had to unfollow someone on YouTube because she started to get these giant plastic nails and as she was taking she would clack them together with each gesture. It made me nauseous.

OddOne2023 · 10/07/2023 08:26

I judge anyone with long fake nails tbh. On Instagram videos or anything online

I know I'm unreasonable.

I just hate how disgusting they must be underneath (not for all I know but many I'm sure) and how it means they can't seem to use their fingers properly.

It's like watching a pre schooler learn to hold a pencil

DiscoDeborah · 10/07/2023 08:27

I'm not proud but I would judge on some nails. Very long, square or those coffin ones, lots of awful nail art and crystals. I'd assume they'd call me hun.

Not nice and not fair I admit.

Sunnyfeelgood · 10/07/2023 08:30

Colour I would have positive judgements, I think black is very classy and yellow looks gorgeous on brown skin.

I do cringe at the long pointy fake nails. I know people love them and I am in the minority here. But I always wonder how they do things without having to contort their fingers. They always look like weapons to me.

Shodan · 10/07/2023 08:30

I assume anyone with painted nails (on a daily basis, not for special occasions) is a) not as clumsy as me b) doesn't spend as much of their time doing DIY or drain unclogging (other unpleasant chores are available) as me and c) has far more patience than me.

Other than that, no assumptions made 😁

Superdupes · 10/07/2023 08:33

I worked with someone lovely who had yellow nails for a while. The only thing I ever think about people with long fake nails is how they manage to do anything with them - especially without breaking them! I hate the feeling of having anything other than very short nails so I always just wonder how other people do it. I don't think anything of the colour though.

Jongleterre · 10/07/2023 08:42

I would judge someone with false nails or nail polish if they were working in a good preparing environment as dirt and bacteria builds up more and is trapped under the veneer of the extension. 🤮

5128gap · 10/07/2023 08:51

No. I genuinely don't get the fuss around finger nails. They're such a small detail of a person's overall presentation, so unless they're filthy or so long they can't be missed, I barely notice them. Sometimes I paint mine if they're looking discoloured and just use a colour I fancy, but I'd be amazed if in the context of my overall appearance that's the feature on which opinions are formed.

TheActualDevil · 10/07/2023 08:52

Erm, No, HTH.

LaMaG · 10/07/2023 08:56

Don't tend to notice nails or colour. But I admit I judge a bit on those really long fake ones that are designed to attention seek, I think they are just that - attention seekers who are probably trying to copy some influencer and they like to file them while watching love island.

Omg yes this! They’re so impractical and expensive

Nordicrain · 10/07/2023 09:14

Colour no. But like others weirdly long fake nails I don't get at all. The sharp ones look lethal (especially when the wearer has a small child/ baby) and I always wonder how they manage buttons. Or typing.

Beezknees · 10/07/2023 09:18

I would judge the people on this thread calling long nails "tacky" more than I'd judge anyone with long nails. The people on this thread seem bitchy and snobby, not the kind of person I'd like to be friends with.

JanesBlond · 10/07/2023 09:20

Colour no but I judge people who have those horrible long fake nails. I see people trying to type with their fingers completely flat because otherwise the nails are in the way and just think why have you made life harder for yourself?

MustBeGinOclock · 10/07/2023 09:22

Yes sort of, If its gareish I'd question what other poor choices this person makes! [Sort of tongue in cheek but the way!)
