To think this is LFT is positive?

Posting here for traffic

I’ve been really sick again for the last 2.5 weeks. I had Covid in early April and it took me literally 6 weeks to start feeling a bit better. I’m really really run down and stressed so I know my immune system isn’t very good.

I took this test a couple days ago as all the symptoms have been the same as Covid. But I’m in actual disbelief that I’ve caught it again so soon and it’s still as vile as the first and second times I’ve had it. My LO and DM have been unwell as well with similar symptoms but lasting way less time cause my immune system isn’t very good.

It’s in black and white to make it easier to see

To think this is LFT is positive?

It doesn't really look.positive to me
But if you are ill.you are ill.im.sorry you are feeling unwell.it could be any virus though

SoupDragon · 03/07/2023 09:03

I don't think it's positive.

bridgetreilly · 03/07/2023 09:04

Might be. Do another tomorrow.

Killingmytime · 03/07/2023 09:05

Yes i can see it faint line. A faint line is a faint line.

Topseyt123 · 03/07/2023 09:06

No. Doesn't look positive to me.

Whataretheodds · 03/07/2023 09:08

I can't see anything despite you playing with the colour contrast.

Tinkietot · 03/07/2023 09:09

I can see a faint line and any line is positive. Maybe retest tomorrow

Daffodildilys · 03/07/2023 09:18

I can see a very faint line. Could be from your previous infection?? Do a retest and see what happens.
Covid is a bastard!!

hiccup345 · 03/07/2023 09:18

Why do you need to know if it's COVID? Whether COVID, the flu, a bad cold, etc. you would surely take the same precautions about not seeing vulnerable people, babies, not going to work, etc.?

eetee · 03/07/2023 09:20

If you can't see a line without adjusting the picture it's likely that you have no line.

Mariposista · 03/07/2023 09:20

Shouldn't those things be in a museum by now?
Get well soon OP. Don't stress about WHAT the illness is, just get well right?

Conkersinautumn · 03/07/2023 09:25

If you look closely at an unused strip you can see the lines if texture change for the test areas. I feel like that's what is showing here, one the strip is wet they do stand out more. As above. I'd you're messing around with zoom and contrast that is not looking at them in natural light!

Oysterbabe · 03/07/2023 09:26

It's a negative test. Why does it matter what it is? If you're sick, you're sick.

BlackeyedSusan · 03/07/2023 09:31

I was going to say no, but I can see a line.

GlomOfNit · 03/07/2023 09:33

Think some posters need their eyes checked! Grin There's a very obvious, albeit faint line there, OP. But as someone else said it might just be from your previous infection as theoretically you can have broken bits of the virus in your system for months afterwards (used to be, don't rely on a positive test result within 90 days of a confirmed infection but I think research has changed this timescale? and it's totally possible to get Covid again within three months, sadly, particularly if it's a different strain).

We were always told, were we not, a faint line is still a positive? That's a faint line, OP.

If you have to take a photo and fiddle about with the colour etc then it isn't a positive.

Thanks for your input people and for those of you who were kind about it.

obviously, I would take the same precautions than if I was sick with anything so not about that.

ive had to play with the contrast because it doesn’t come up well on pics. In real life it’s a lot more visible. So that’s why.

reason I’m asking and it matters is just because I have severe health anxiety - and knowing if I have Covid or not is helpful in some ways because I can put it down to another infection as opposed to some mystery illness with the same symptoms.

Oh just sling it in the bin. If you’re ill you’re ill.

Christ imagine if people wanted to know exactly what strain of the cold virus they had everytime they felt a bit unwell.

Or you have the shits so start testing your shit samples trying to work out the exact cause of your diarrhoea?

Haha I thought exactly the same. Sorry you're sick but perhaps binning the tests might bring your stress level down

Indeed.

To be honest the photo is so edited that I would probably see Jesus Christ in it if you said he was there.

A real positive would easily show on a picture though. What you are doing is manipulating the contrast to show a line that is already there. This is where it would turn pink if the sample was positive.

Cloxs · 03/07/2023 09:54

Ok. Well I’m getting the vibe that due to editing the image it’s probably negative. No problem - it’s negative. I was wrong.
