AIBU ? So my DH’s young brother and wife are in town for a week and they are staying with us and I’m slowly loosing it . I’m 34 SIL is 25 and she has zero respect for me . She wakes up at 1100 and does not clean up after herself and expects me to make her breakfast and do her dishes . Also they have been fighting constantly since arrival with her hubby over petty issues . I have a 13 month old and last night they had the tv on full blast . Its so annoying and i really want them to leave . How do i live for the next coming 6 days with peace within my home any advice ?!

Ask them to leave?
I would not stand for this in my house.

Tell them where the food is and to help themselves and not forget to wash up after.
Ask them to keep the noise down as you have a small child trying to sleep.

Simple communication.
Its not rude to expect respect.

They have now left, been asked to leave.

All of this ‘mess’ with a young baby in the house too. Irresponsible.

I grew a backbone . I have always been very introverted but the final straw for me was them cussing out and using foul language in front of my wee one

Was the BIL polite with you and tidied up after himself? Or was he the same as his wife?

Why haven’t you answered the question of why it was your SILs fault though and not the both of them?

Please turn down the telly, wash your plates, make your breakfast etc.

Have your husband explain to his brother that you are not a maid, that they are welcome but not welcome to treat you as a slave or to not clean up after themselves. They need to grow up or ship out.

"Cussing out " is a commonly used phrase amongst my American friends.

It’s used by people of colour in the UK too. Old and young. Cursing means something totally different to people with African / Indian origin than cussing.
