What did you last but someone flowers for?

Not included is mother day / birthday / get well soon

When did you last buy someone flowers for a reason that may not be considered the norm. (As above)

I received flowers as they were intended for someone else at a hobby but they didn't show. I was still grateful for them as the person could have taken them home for themselves.

I bought someone flowers recently to show gratitude for a selfless act they did which benefited our family.

For me. Smile Last week!

The last one before that was for my BFF who got a new job last month. Smile

I bought potted grape hyacinth for my mother so she saw something beautiful when she woke up. 🌹

A few months ago when the daffs arrived in the supermarket, left some on a friends doorstep just because.

Congratulations, @IheardYouButDontWantToAnswer ! 💐

Last bought someone flowers because they lost a family member.

My gf sent my flowers last month for no reason other than to make me smile and tell me she loves me

mrsfeatherbottom · 28/06/2023 16:03

I just ordered flowers for the first time in years! For my mum who has been helping out with school pick ups for 3 weeks because I can't drive at the minute. Normally, I just grab flowers at the supermarket so nearly fainted at the price of proper florist flowers plus delivery!

I bought peonies to put invthe vase beside my brothers memorial plaque at the crematorium last Saturday. No anniversary, no particular reason. I just miss him so much and needed to do it.

ColdHandsHotHead · 28/06/2023 16:09

I nearly bought a neighbour flowers a couple of months ago when he helped me with a small DIY job that needed two people, but in the end I decided he would prefer wine (from his reaction this was a good call).

FuppingEll · 28/06/2023 16:12

I didn't buy but I brought MIL a bunch of flowers from our garden last weekend. No reason really except I have an abundance of sweet peas and I knew she would love them.

northernstars · 28/06/2023 16:18

About to order to be delivered to my goddaughter as I'm missing her baby shower.

Spanielsarepainless · 28/06/2023 16:19

Sent my parents flowers as a thank you.

LoopyLoo1991 · 28/06/2023 16:19

I bought two different coloured daffodils for my boyfriend, to go with a 'spring surprise' card I made for him.
I'd been ratty all winter and my mood had switched by then.

I bought myself a £2.75 bunch of lilies from Lidl, does that count? They’re lovely and brighten up my windowsill in the kitchen.

Sorry for your loss. Hope the flowers made you feel a little better too.

Of course - I think I'll buy myself a bunch this weekend on the back of this thread.

I bought flowers for a patient who died. They were so brave and fought for their life. I was so upset when it happened. I came home from the funeral and cried my heart out. My husband knows, he doesn't have to ask and he was there for me. I'm not made of stone. Life can do so unfair sometimes.

hulahooper2 · 28/06/2023 16:58

For my daughter as one of her graduation gifts

ShowOfHands · 28/06/2023 17:00

For DS who did sports day today and I couldn't get time off work to watch. He's in y6 and it was his last primary school sports day.

Welshwabbit · 28/06/2023 17:31

For a work colleague who is also a friend, and who has been taken a bit for granted by other colleagues recently.

Roselilly36 · 28/06/2023 17:33

Yesterday, for a friend going through a challenging time.

JellyfishandShells · 28/06/2023 17:41

To say thank you to a neighbour who can be tricky but who has been relatively patient during some noisy building work last week.

TheCheeseTray · 28/06/2023 17:45

Twice in the last week

  1. lady at work is beyond lovely and always takes time out of her day to brighten other peoples eg I felt really self conscious about wearing a dress the other day and she complimented me and was sincere - she is always like this so I brought her flowers just to say thanks for being her
  2. my best friend - had a shit day and her daughter was being a little madam and I brought her flowers turned up (she had rung me) and I basically sorted out child’s bedtime made my friend have a foot bath whilst I took daughter to ballet etc
VincentofJazz · 28/06/2023 17:45

I made a bouquet from my garden and gave them to a hospice for the reception area- they were very well received.

imadeitnice · 28/06/2023 17:45

I bought some a couple of months ago for my DD when she failed her theory driving test (she passed a few weeks later)

Mimilamore · 28/06/2023 17:48
