Ok, I just found some Chinese style chicken tights which expired on the 19th June. Completely forgot about them! I opened the package and it doesn’t smell bad or anything, just like sauce. I can’t see how it looks like because of the sauce it’s covered tho but it’s been in the fridge not freezer.

Upon the inspection I put them in the oven. Make sure they are cooked as always.

Would you eat it? Is it ok to do so?

I’m incredibly relaxed about best before dates but I wouldn’t eat chicken that’s 6 days past when you can’t see/smell the meat properly to tell if it’s off.

How has no-one else spotted the typo?

Thank goodness! Honestly it's just not worth it, if you don't want to go to work tomorrow there are about 100 better ways than spending it hugging the toilet. 😆

But seriously OP, I eat out of date things all the time, but not things like chicken and especially not by a week, a day or 2 maybe.

Definitely not! Particularly not in this weather. Also, you may have thought they smelt OK but the spices in the coating could have considerably masked any deterioration.

Frozen? Sure.

That's what I thought too. Plain chicken you might be able to smell but not in a sauce. I wouldn't eat them.
