I'll go for "I'll have the gravlax", "Dust Magnet", "The Happy World of Haribo", "Bladder leakage" and Plusnet's Pink Furry Ball (the vacuum cleaner ad that never was).

My brother works for this company and is mortified by it because the weird kid looks like a potential serial killer. One minute you're laughing at a dropped I've cream and the next you're soundproofing your basement and buying cable ties, duck tape and bleach from B&Q

tobee · 19/06/2023 05:00

There seem to be endless ads about erectile problems at the moment.

Also the Philips one where the bloke bends over with a razor to trim his Crown Jewels!! Am I the only who's seen that?

And the weird as fuck cider one where the people appear wearing an avocado costume showing their tummy and a ginger guy with bread hanging off him. Wtf is that all about???

Desiredeffect · 19/06/2023 05:59

All the temu ones. They are annoying and are all the time. The music as well is, dull and it's to much in your face advertising

AuntieMarys · 19/06/2023 06:02

We never watch ITV for that reason. I hate adverts

tobee · 19/06/2023 06:40

I don't watch itv much either but they're everywhere.

Tarkan · 19/06/2023 07:35

DC (15) happened to see one of these the other week and asked me what erectile dysfunction was. I explained it in basic terms, and their reply was, "Oh, I just thought it meant they were bad at sex". 🤣

MXVIT · 19/06/2023 07:38

My god is that man handsone though

MXVIT · 19/06/2023 07:39

The bold man that is, quote didn't work

ripplingwater · 19/06/2023 07:41

ALL the ones for life insurance/funeral cover starring men and women who look barely 50, grinning and giggling about their funerals and how its so wonderful that their family/friends "wont have to worry" and will be super happy when their funeral arrives. They're always in the kitchen in these ads arranging a vase of flowers or drinking cups of coffee grinning like maniacs about how their funeral will be the best day of their lives. 🙄

🎶 I didn’t know you had dandruff

He's gorgeous though.

ripplingwater · 19/06/2023 07:45

Oh, and definitely the fabric softener one where the kid is being horrifically bullied at school and is in tears about it (or some other horrible trauma) but because her dressing gown smells of Tuberose, all is suddenly fine.

I haven't seen this or half the other ads mentioned on here because I either record ITV and channel 4 and FF through the ads or watch on catch up where the ads are fewer but more repetitive. I watched and counted 6 Febreze ads one after the other on itvx once.

Roystonv · 19/06/2023 07:50

The Lloyds one too and another company is using the same This girl is on firee song now. Don't they check? Tbh 99% of adverts demean, don't have any relevance to the product or daily life, lie and infuriate - the creators and those who approve them live in a very different world.

moonlitwalks · 19/06/2023 07:51

The "have you been injured at work?" ones. Where they always shout "we're REAL lawyers!". If I went to see my GP and he stood up and shouted "I'm a REAL doctor" I'd probably slowly back out of the room...

I found the "on the beach" advert really horrible. It was shown after Christmas with the boy laughing at his sister for dropping her ice cream. Then he was overly enthused by a doughnut. Yuk. As some PP have said, it just looked like a justification of everyone behaving badly on holiday. I complained to the advertising standards people. Sort of vague complaint about promoting unhealthy eating. Not because I thought it actually broke any rules but I sort of hoped they would just take it off the TV so I didn't have to hear the Most Wonderful Time of the Year any more. I have never complained before so it was interesting to do it. I have to say I was really impressed with their response. Very thoughtful and reasonable although they thought the horrible advert was just about OK. Luckily it's not on any more so I can go back to being uninterested in the ads.

I hate that one with a burning passion. The whole family are obnoxious and deserve to be stuck in a delayed flight-bad weather-hotel food poisoning purgatory forever.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/06/2023 09:30

I've remembered some more - the car advert, where the family are at some mountainside cafe, sitting outside with beautiful views, and the kids are just on their cellphones, so the parents dump the kids' luggage by the road, and drive off. Child abandonment is a good thing, when advertising a car, is it?

And the Hyundai advert where all the people are pronouncing it wrongly, and getting sent to all the wrong places, and some know-it-all tells the last one it's pronounced Hyun-dee. I am damn sure that, up until that advert, they have been using the other pronunciation in their adverts - Hie-un-die - so how the feck were we supposed to know that's not how to say it.

@ItsWorkNotAParty - the On the Beach ad annoys me too - especially the extended version, where they almost all behave like utter twats, all the way from the airport lounge onwards. The little girl is the only one who doesn't - and she's rewarded by losing her ice cream, and having her brother taunt her.

MXVIT · 19/06/2023 07:38

My god is that man handsone though

I find them a creepy, smug family.

I think the Spam advert guy is quite attractive. Maybe they chose him to distract from the fact it's a joke food. Imagine getting the main part in an advert but it's for spam!

I realise though that I listen to these ads with the sound muted.

Laughingravy · 19/06/2023 09:57

Another vote for the 'On the Beach' obnoxious family - Book with us and see who'll ruin your holiday Yay!
I find the current Argos ads just a bit odd - and discovering you can buy a Connie hasn't helped.
And I do find amusement in thinking an alien who only ever watched TV ads to learn about us would be surprised to find all our households aren't ethnically mixed or gay

babybumbum · 19/06/2023 09:58

Am I the only one who switches off when the adverts come on or go on my phone? 🤔

tobee · 19/06/2023 10:04

Surely that On the Beach one won't be back as it seemed to be loathed?

I get irrationally bothered by the advert where the kid is dishing up soup to their sibling and the bowl is taken away and the food goes on the table!

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/06/2023 10:06

Wren Kitchen dancers. No idea why.

KimberleyClark · 19/06/2023 10:19

Any of the hotel booking ones that say their third party site is cheaper than going directly to the hotel. They've never been cheaper for me and I've usually got better deals going directly to a hotel to book.

we always book direct ever since we got scammed once and found our booking had been cancelled when we got to the hotel and we never got our money back. It is so infuriating when you Google a hotel and it takes you ages to find their actual website because the first 20 hits are booking websites.

Lessoftheold · 19/06/2023 10:25

Inkypot · 18/06/2023 19:39

Really? Nobody else is going straight to the annoying prick singing about Monday with a whole load of annoying dancers because he loves his job? Think it's for Reed Recruitment. Annoying as hell and nothing could be worse than working with that 😄

I'm convinced that ad was made by an ex Apprentice candidate.

The holiday one think it's Jet2 maybe not where the woman NEVER EVER lets go of her bf/husbands hand - we get it, you're together. Pisses me off big time. The song is shit too

The Jet2 one makes me physically uncomfortable - I just want to slap her hand, dragging her partner along.

My current hatred is a radio ad, rather than TV, for Indeed. You would think if they needed a 'Stefano' for a radio ad, they could find someone authentically ? Italian ? rather than someone putting on a dodgy accent.

As for 'more flour in the béchamel' - who wants to go to a restaurant where they can't make a béchamel properly. Make another bloody roux to thicken it, if you must, don't just chuck extra flour in.

Isn't that the truth ...😂
