I'll go for "I'll have the gravlax", "Dust Magnet", "The Happy World of Haribo", "Bladder leakage" and Plusnet's Pink Furry Ball (the vacuum cleaner ad that never was).

@FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper that's a very good point. It's not misleading advertising as such, as per the ASA regulations - well I don't think so, anyway? - but it's in the territory of being a model/actor mimicking a disabled person. It's just daft.

JackGrealishsCalves · 03/07/2023 12:36

Any cleaning product that uses a popular song but changes the words and uses some bloke who can't sing
Bold and Flash I'm looking at you 😡

lieselotte · 03/07/2023 13:00

All the menopause ads showing during Van der Valk. They clearly think women of a certain age are watching it (and I guess they are right) Grin

They are a bit cringey though.

SabrinaThwaite · 03/07/2023 14:13

The cruise in the Antarctic one because the voiceover is awful - smug and pompous.

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 03/07/2023 14:16

Not a cleaning product, but that advert where they sang "I've finally found the right snaaaaaack" to the tune of Total Eclipse of The Heart irritated me sooooo intensely.

Middleagedandgrumpy · 03/07/2023 15:32

Daisy. Daisy. Daisy. Daisy... never has an advert annoyed me more than this one.

lollipoprainbow · 04/07/2023 13:13

Sorry to say it but the cancer research one 'you don't believe it til it walks through that door' the people on it are clearly all actors and irritating ones at that.

Sisiwawa · 04/07/2023 13:19

The Slim Fast one with Kelly Brooke, naff as hell. V off-putting!

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 04/07/2023 14:46

I know one of the women on there - I worked with her years ago - and she did actually lose her Mum to cancer. She has since become a passionate campaigner and fundraiser.

That doesn't mean that I choose to support the charity myself, mind - of course I support the stated aims, but not the way the charity is run (like most of the enormous ones).

Scotslass171 · 08/09/2023 21:22

The Webuyanycar one with everyone bursting into song!!!! The Sure deo one with the female dancer. All the Flash cleaning products one, Sky sports circus ad, Keith Lemon 32 Red, ee broadband ad with the snake,

Scotslass171 · 08/09/2023 21:27

Following on from the worst current ads on tv at the moment which ones are the best.

Amazon ad with the night security guard learning to cook and maybe applying to be a chef

OriginalUsername2 · 18/06/2023 19:54

I bloody hate this advert! Mostly because the woman annoys me but yeah it’s a bit much while you’re eating lunch.

Yep, we have managed to advertise toilet paper for decades without anyone wiping their bum.

I think Irn Brew is the standard to which all ads should aspire.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 09/09/2023 15:56

Vagasil
Tena
Pee pants

There's nothing sacred

RocassaCH · 09/09/2023 16:35

It only struck me, watching an Episode last night - and correct me if I am wrong - only "Bangers And Cash" appears to have escaped this unwarranted imposition. So popular, UKTV have just signed up for a long rash of Episodes. (I'll bet I've just ruined it forever now and reduced my terrestrial Channel choice to re-runs of 'Bullseye' (sic).

The one I hate most at the moment is the Grape Tree one. Why does nothing in the shop have a price label? And where are all the staff?

My mum's most hated is the More Than pet insurance one with the man going around shouting "Sausage" all the time.

VickyEadieofThigh · 09/09/2023 16:48

EvlisPersley · 18/06/2023 20:10

All of the ones trying to tick every diversity box in one 90 sec ad 🙄

Yep, same here.

NeelyOHara1 · 10/09/2023 19:52

I've been seeing some bonkers handbag one that is naff.

SofiaSoFar · 11/09/2023 12:12

VickyEadieofThigh · 09/09/2023 16:48

Yep, same here.

Yes!

I was thinking about that the other day - I don't recall the 'ad which sparked my thinking, but they seem to want to portray at least 80% of the UK in a gay/bi/trans/non-white/step-family household.

The brands and creatives must be tying themselves in knots trying to cover absolute every possible blend in a single ad'. 😂

Puddycatfan · 11/09/2023 12:33

The one where the women's phone bings all the time and she goes "aaaahhhh" despite her husband being stung/ piss wet through. Pack it in you annoying twat!!!

kitsuneghost · 11/09/2023 12:52

The one with dogs pissing on the floor during my dinner
Think it might be for 'Plenty'

Curlygirl06 · 11/09/2023 13:12

DerekFaker · 23/06/2023 13:43

DARLING HOLD MY HAND!

Oh God I hate that song so much. Jess Glynn (I think it's her) has a horrible voice.

This one is always on YouTube as well 😡

The rule in this house is that when that advert comes on, I drop what I'm doing and grab dh's hand. He drops what he's doing and scrambles to get his hands out of the way.
We were watching tv in bed one night and the advert came on, he threw himself sideways and fell off the bed. I laughed so much I was nearly sick! We still do it though.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/09/2023 13:27

Just sold my car through We Buy Any Car

I hate that jingle with a burning passion. We were on a long drive, and it came up in every single ad break on Classic FM - it only took a few repetitions for my eye to start twitching at the first note.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/09/2023 13:28

Good heavens - that was not the formatting I was expecting! Apologies for being shouty.

Loadedbydeath · 11/09/2023 13:42

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 01/07/2023 13:55

I agree re the Pure Cremations ones. Funerals are a very helpful way for many people to grieve, find closure and come to terms with the loss of their loved one. To be blunt, your funeral is not really for you at all.

For a great many people, being denied that is absolutely not a kindness to them, whatever the pedlars of direct cremations may claim.

No-one is being "denied" anything. If you want to commemorate someone's life no-one is stopping you just because you don't have a corpse present.

Emotional blackmail works both ways.

Sayut · 11/09/2023 13:45

The woman on the loo one for me. Awful
