To be shocked malnutrition children

allabouttheboy · 18/06/2023 02:15

Just read that children living in catered asylum seeker hotels are suffering malnutrition because both they and the adults are not being given enough food. Some parents have been rummaging through rubbish bins to try and find enough food for their children. And some schools are giving children two lunches to try and make sure they get enough to eat.
The private hostels are paid well by the government to provide accommodation and food. So they are deliberately not giving enough food to maximise profit.
I have read teachers saying they have been trying to shout about this, but no one is listening.
I am shocked that this is happening to children living in Britain.

P.s. an asylum seeker in catered accommodation gets £8.24 a week for all other costs apart from food and housing.

The vast majority are from Islamic countries

And? Your point is?

Blackbyrd · 20/06/2023 03:36

It's impossible to have any kind of rational discussion on this subject because of the hysterical virtue signalling and constant accusations of racism etc. If we weren't hosting so many economic migrants, we would have the capacity to help those such as Ugandans who are genuinely experiencing terrible trauma. One solution to child malnutrition is to offer decent free school meals to all, and replicate the French system which is beneficial in so many ways

It's a shame people don't take more self responsibility, but as is and some adults have more children then they can provide for it will always be thus.

What shall we do with the superfluous children, apart from starve them out of existence?

Never mind the fact that most colonisation has been perpetrated by "Christian" countries...

Maybe the food is not halal or maybe it's just not culturally what they are used too so they struggle to eat it . Maybe they just can't stomach greasy chips and chicken nuggets. I'm surprised the Muslim community hasn't kicked up a fuss or helped out with food . Saying that its ultimately the government's fault for not stepping up .

The Christian community hasn't done much either tbf

If we can't feed our own how are we supposed to feed the rest that come here?

There isn't an endless pot of money.

Housing is in crisis. Schools are are breaking point. The NHS may as well not exist. Children already here are starving and living in poverty. Ood banks can't cope. It's irresponsible to encourage more to come here.

Same as someone that can't feed or provide for the kids they've already got shouldn't have more, we shouldn't be taking in more people that can't contribute or provide for themselves.

Stop voting Tory then 🤷‍♀️

When I worked in a supermarket we had asylum seekers come in and they all pooled, money together to a kind of leader. He had rolls of money. There not that hard uo

We have crops rotting in the ground every year since Brexit because we don't have the workforce to pick them. We need more of those economic migrants. We need the medical staff and the university academics from overseas, who are also economic migrants.

Did they all have mobile phones as well? Bet they did, fucking scroungers. And shoes - I bet they were all wearing shoes, weren't they? Discusting.

How exactly did you gauge their immigration status? 😅

That's ridiculous, Hope fully they can feed them on the sly Via a free takeaway from a shop. There are ways round things .

What? Get a takeaway for 97 people every day? Are you on glue? 😂

alloutofluck · 20/06/2023 09:05

Pooling money together is far more likely to be a large family of British people or migrants with visas. N some cultures families pool money to help poorer family members.
And many racists claim anyone black or brown acting in ways they don't are asylum seekers.

alloutofluck · 20/06/2023 09:08

The article I posted explains people are not getting enough calories. One chicken nugget and seven chips was one meal given as an example.

They were prepared to feed them anyway but were denied . So they were going to feed 97 people. They were going to buy the food and cook and deliver it . Like I said there are ways round things .

Terrible trauma in Uganda? Surely not? The British Home Secretary says it is a safe country, so that must be true.

Wasley · 20/06/2023 10:18

As one poster said , the Muslim community wanted to prepare meals for the Asylum seekers but were denied . All I said was maybe they could be given a free meal from an Islamic run takeaway . That is the way around the problem , but as usual people don't read threads properly. And yes the Christian community such as the Salvation Army has helped out . There is a Christian group in my town That hands out sandwiches and coffee regularly on the street to people in need . And yes the vast majority of asylum seekers are from Islamic countries not a criticism just stating a fact . Also this Government refuses to help its own people born here , Fact . So don't be suprised if it won't help asylum seekers properly either.

Wasley · 20/06/2023 11:43

In the pandemic takeaways in my town we're offering free food for people in need, so it can be done .

They're not that hard up?
Do me a favour.

If twenty people pool their small amount of money and give it to one person, obviously that one person will have "rolls of money".

I can't bear bigots like you.
