Does anyone know why DP pupils are tiny (like pin holes)? It happens every time he comes back after being away for the night.

Possibly drugs.

FourEyesGood · 17/06/2023 16:04

Almost certainly drugs.

FourEyesGood · 17/06/2023 16:06

A quick Google suggests that heroin can be a major cause of this, but that sometimes alcohol can be the reason.

SnapPop · 17/06/2023 16:07

Drugs

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 17/06/2023 16:08

Ah come on, surely it's obvious? 😬

NowWhatt · 17/06/2023 16:08

I suspected drugs. He gave up alcohol a while ago and said he didn’t drink but I’m not convinced.

is there a drug test that I can get which will show up 48hours after?

Obviously it’s not obvious (to me) or I wouldn’t be asking the question :)

My first thought when I read your title was that e was a nursery teacher!

cassiatwenty · 17/06/2023 16:11

I thought he was just calm and ready to sleep

Me too 😂thought ahh bless they just young

Binfire · 17/06/2023 16:11

Yep drugs, but not necessarily heroin. Lots of different drugs would have this effect and if he was a heroin user you would probably know.

Twinklegolden · 17/06/2023 16:11

Certain medications can cause this such as certain high blood pressure meds

larkstar · 17/06/2023 16:14

Lack of sleep is also a cause.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 17/06/2023 16:18

Opiates.

They can be very attractive to somebody who doesn't want a smell on their breath.

WonderDays · 17/06/2023 16:19

Blood pressure.

If you suspect this and want to drug test your partner, then surely you need to end the relationship as there is no trust (even if the suspicion is well founded).

MeinKraft · 17/06/2023 16:20

No one casually takes heroin on a night out surely?!

missmollygreen · 17/06/2023 16:20

I think the OP would notice if her OH was on heroin, its not easy to be a functioning heroin user, and not the kind of thing you only do once in a while on a night out!

itsmylife7 · 17/06/2023 16:21

Coke and not the fizzy type you drink.

PinkFootstool · 17/06/2023 16:23

Pinpoint rather than dilated would be opiate related drugs / depressants. Heroin, codeine, morphine, fentanyl etc, but could potentially be a form of new-style PS (psychoactive substances) where the components could be almost anything.

It could also be alcohol.

PinkFootstool · 17/06/2023 16:24

itsmylife7 · 17/06/2023 16:21

Coke and not the fizzy type you drink.

Cocaine causes the eyes to dilate. That's why people who claim noone notices they use it are full of shit. Add in the chewing on fingers/lips/objects, sniffs and general antsy movements and it's absolutely obvious

You can't just test him without his permission

whumpthereitis · 17/06/2023 16:29

As a general rule, stimulants cause the pupils to dilate, whereas depressants cause them to constrict.

Alcohol can cause constricted pupils. So can weed (some strains) and opiates.

Some legally prescribed medications can also cause it. Antidepressants, antipsychotics, certain cardiac medications etc.

Peachy2005 · 17/06/2023 16:35

I was thinking tiny students but it’s got to be drugs, surely…if it’s only noticeable after he has been away for the night!

Absolutely this.
