I've been on Mumsnet for around 10 years now, I have read some crazy threads.

I'm lying in bed hungover and looking for some stories to brighten up my shameful Saturday afternoon.

If anyone wants to share it would be greatly appreciated Grin

I am HOWLING at Sharon and the wasp. Oh my god how have I missed this

CM283648 · 17/06/2023 23:01

@Screwballs This thread is about Christmas cards that come in the post without a gift. I would open cards that were taped to gifts on Chr

CM283648 · 17/06/2023 23:01

Christmas Day, not Chr

HAMwich Grin

I don't really remember many until I re-read them or see them on threads like this. Although I do remember the start of a comment that made me laugh hysterically where someone was describing something someone had done to them and said "we'll call her Louise, because that's her name". I have NO IDEA why I thought that was so funny?!

I AM CANADIAN - The OP was planning on moving to Canada despite knowing nothing about the country and was frankly being a complete arse. She was arguing with another poster and accused them of knowing nothing about Canada. The other poster was Canadian!

I've read that thread more than once and never got why people thought that was funny - it was an argument about Canadian Visa rules, not just about Canada. I mean, I'm English but I don't know anything about English immigration!

If I remember correctly, the Canadian poster did know about immigration etc and the OP who, at best, had been to Canada once on holiday knew bugger all. It was also because the OP was being an argumentative dick and dismissing everyone else’s posts. I’ve read it since and there are more holes in that thread than Swiss cheese as so many posts have been withdrawn.

The sadly deleted ‘I’m Angela Hernandez’ thread had me in stitches. Proper laughing.

@ridemesideway Angela Hernandez was hilarious but that thread also has a post by someone whose mum was ill and she had to call an ambulance for her. Every time the DM moved getting into the ambulance she farted and kept saying ‘I’m so sorry Brian’ to the paramedic. Except Brian wasn’t his name. (I’m sure I also have his name wrong)!

Not bonkers but funny - the one recently where a woman (in the UK) slept in for work and texted her boss with an image she'd googled of a traffic jam to make it look like she'd taken the pic from her car window, but the cars were all had French license plates.

🤣❤️🤣❤️

alltoomuchrightnow · 17/06/2023 23:12

omg yes Angela H
and the owl noises
Truly my day is made !

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/06/2023 23:12

There's one I really remember and I have searched for it and I think it might have been taken away for privacy reasons but MIL and the Hat.

A woman had bought her DD an expensive sounding matching hat and coat, I was imagining designer. The hat went missing and her MIL swore blind she hadn't seen it. The OP was upset. At a later date, she ran into MIL in the street and her OTHER granddaughter was wearing said hat. MIL had decided that Grandchild A had too many nice things and it needed to be shared with Grandchild B. B's parents were not in the know.Shock

Screaming in the Sistine chapel Grin still makes me laugh just thinking about that thread!

Oh that one was so funny! Thank you for reminding me of that.

Not sure if it was the same thread but people putting toilet seats in the dishwasher.

There is an article in The New York Times about how to clean your loo and it says to put the loo brush in the bath to rinse it after cleaning the loo , or in the handbasin.

🤮

Sunnydaysareuponus · 17/06/2023 23:19

Was there a thread about a wooden breadbin?

musixa · 17/06/2023 23:27

The te noihydc thread - I always thought this one should've gone into Classics

ErmWhatever · 17/06/2023 23:30

No time to read 14 pages but has the woman who puts toothpaste on her bumhole after a shit been mentioned yet?

jesusjoan · 17/06/2023 23:34

@Sunnydaysareuponus yup, the OP spent a hundred quid on a breadbin on Etsy and the seller carved the word 'bread' without telling OP first and also she couldn't fit bread in it. And then it took a bonkers turn and the polis got called in. Or something along those lines.

jesusjoan · 17/06/2023 23:37

Can't remember if this was a troll or not but the one last year when a woman set up spy cameras because her tradesman was bonking a married woman he sneaked into her house while she was at work but was charging OP by the hour for the work.

Omg I just read this thread from start to finish and had the best time of my LIFE.

Then realised that a photo I took of my dog yesterday looks EXACTLY like one of the 'me now' photos they always show at the end of the article in which Barb from Hull got fleeced out of her savings by her Tunisian toyboy Ahmed.

What's the most bonkers thread you've read on here?

Was there a thread about a wooden breadbin?

Are you thinking of the one where a women commissioned a handmade breadbin, posted about the fact they'd painted 'bread bin' on it, and it turned out they'd made if from poisonous wood?

givingupchocolatemonday · 17/06/2023 23:52

A recent post where there was a discussion on genders and what they are teaching kids in school. One poster said 'THERE ARE CLEARLY MORE THAN TWO GENDERS'

So many people replied asking what the other genders were. I waited ages for a reply on that comment 😂

Zone2NorthLondon · 17/06/2023 23:53

The woman who said she wept when she thought of babies & toddlers in nursery. Claimed she literally wept at the trauma of it. All the kids lined up like felons in the penitentiary. Oh Yes and her boobs leaked milk when she thought about all the formula fed babies

Hawkins0001 · 17/06/2023 23:58

The water serpents one, when that appears I try to get as much Intel from the op, but they get distracted then usually the thread gets pulled.

Elderflower14 · 18/06/2023 00:00

Wasnt there a thread when someone shouted "Willie's, Willie's Willie's" at someone else???

808Kate1 · 18/06/2023 00:00

@Hawkins0001 the bison chemtrails poster? haven't seen her on here for a while!

808Kate1 · 18/06/2023 00:01
