A satnav for anxious drivers that you can programme to avoid super busy routes like town centres, right turns across dual carriageways etc etc!

GPS trackable microchips.

Not sure exactly what this idea is but pretty sure it exists in that all GPS tracking is done via microchips.

There was a post a while ago about re-designing bras. So I have been giving it some thought.

The cantilever shelf bra. Picture this: some lead weight on the back of your bum, like a bustle, held by a waist or hip belt. Then two rods going up the side of your torso, with a shelf at the front on which your boobs can rest, the weight of boobs being balanced by the weights at the rear.

I know, call me a genius. I hereby now freely give up the patent so that the good women of Mumsnet can benefit in perpetuity.

sorry, that has me GrinConfusedGrin

a satnav that tells you 'no, the other left' when you get it wrong.

Stillcountingbeans · 17/06/2023 19:22

It is the only thing I could think of that is neither a corset nor an over-shoulder job.

Vitriolinsanity · 17/06/2023 19:27

I see none of the smug "exists" had it occurred to you even a bit they may not elsewhere have dissed the underfloor wine vat.

My greatest invention would have been hankies that don't make your nose sore when you've got a cold/hay fever, but Kleenex obviously brain drained me one day and created balm infused tissues.

Yes, but a power source is needed. So you can't track a microchip in a cat as you can't implant a battery along with the chip nor plug the cat in to charge every night. I should have been more specific.

wonkylegs · 17/06/2023 19:37

@saltinesandcoffeecups @MrsMattMurdock there is also this one www.amazon.co.uk/Pick-Up-Bricks-Compatible-Accessories/dp/B0B6WLZRYL
Not sure it's worth the cost but...

A chute that goes from the bedroom to the washing machine to save lugging laundry downstairs.

A special ability to tune out irritating sound but which still enables you to hear everything else normally.

Multi using lamp posts as a means of holding EV charging points.

Underfloor wine vats with a filling point on the kitchen counter.

My friend has this! Well not into the actual machine, but from the en-suite to the laundry room - I love it!

wonkylegs · 17/06/2023 19:40

@saltinesandcoffeecups
"You guys don’t have laundry chutes? It’s not rocket science to build one, it’s a hole in the wall (between the wall studs) with a metal sheath inserted to help the laundry slide. I have one in my house (US)"

Our Victorian house has solid brick walls between rooms, I have to use a power drill to hang pictures - inserting a laundry chute would be a major feat of engineering

Vitriolinsanity · 17/06/2023 19:43

I suppose I could create one by pressing a bunch of those builder barrels they use to demolish high walls into service 🤔

Because I’m not sure how practical this is… First, if big enough then you’d be forced to commit to one wine. Then you’d have to account for freshness…

I think you should concentrate on an in counter wine dispenser

Vitriolinsanity · 17/06/2023 19:44

@wonkylegs waving atcha from a Georgian terrace!

I suppose at the time they simply invited The Housemaid Grin

Dumb waiters were a thing, weren’t they?

saltinesandcoffeecups · 17/06/2023 19:47

Now I want a dumb waiter… would not get much use in my single floor house but damn I love those things

MustYou · 17/06/2023 19:48

A thing to automatically put those annoying blue shoe covers onto your feet.

Kinetic power would be the answer

imapterodactyl · 17/06/2023 19:49

A hotel that turns into a total pollen free zone in summer for all the poor unfortunates who can't escape it usually. The bliss of being itch and snot free for a few nights would be immense.

I have a laundry chute and it’s amazing.

I want a whisk that flattens for easy washing.

Like this?

Joseph Joseph Twist Whisk- 2 in 1 - flat and balloon whisk - Suitable for non-stick cookware, Silicone, Grey / Green amzn.eu/d/0ownqYB

Beginningless · 17/06/2023 19:51

A teleporter. Mainly for in the evening when I don’t want to move off the couch to get into bed, but I’m sure it would have other uses too.

saltinesandcoffeecups · 17/06/2023 19:48

Yes, but you would still need a battery

HappyFeet63 · 17/06/2023 19:54

A booth beside the shower where after you’ve washed your hair you just stand in it and your hair magically detangles and is blow dried in an instant

Vitriolinsanity · 17/06/2023 20:01

@saltinesandcoffeecups I've considered your point, it works for me because a) I only drink Gavi and b) it doesn't hang about long enough.

However, it could be modified into chambers for different types and gently stirred.

Also, I'm working on a in only cat/dog door that drys fur with a short absorbent tunnel to dry paws.

Yes, and routes for travel sick people with the straightest roads, dual carriageways etc instead of windy lanes. I don't mind it taking longer if there's less chance of having to deal with a mess/miserable passengers.
