How do some celebrities have 100% smooth underarms?

How do celebrities maintain perfectly hairless underarms? Their underarms always look sleek and clean.
My own experience with waxing hasn't been as effective because the hair grows back quickly and some fine hairs often get missed. Even after seven laser treatments, I still have some hair.

Do these celebrities achieve their smooth underarms through electrolysis or by getting numerous laser treatments?

It’s an unrealistic beauty standard and I’d imagine most of it is down to photoshop anyway.

chipsandpeas · 16/06/2023 22:49

photoshop
or for the few laser treatment

mrsfollowill · 16/06/2023 22:51

It's laser hair removal- I too used to wonder about this with my 'five o'clock shadow' even when I shaved every day. I only have a Lumea at home- never go to a salon but have hair free smooth underarms these days! Keep on with the laser treatment - it took around a year before I got where I wanted to be.

Dita73 · 16/06/2023 22:53

No idea but I’ve never really had hair under my arms at all. In my twenties I thought I’d grow them to get them waxed. The beautician was laughing her head off as there were about three tiny hairs! I don’t get them on my legs either. I don’t know if this is a common thing. Maybe I’m just weird

PuffinsRocks · 16/06/2023 22:55

How many times have you studied a close-up of random celebrity pits??
I mean those brief glimpses in body shot photos are tiny and how would you ever spot regrowth fuzz unless you were looking for it with a magnifying glass? I think they just have normal armpits.

Jk987 · 16/06/2023 22:56

Laser all the way. Had mine done years ago and never worried about stubble again.

Lemons1571 · 16/06/2023 22:56

Lots of ongoing IPL (laser treatment)

CurlyhairedAssassin · 16/06/2023 22:57

Is this a joke? Why do you care about totally smooth underarms? Mindboggling. I's like that Dove advert where they showed armpits and raved about how smooth they were due to that particular product. I actually burst out laughing the first time I saw it thinking it was a piss take.

greenspaces4peace · 16/06/2023 22:57

i'm smooth and shave once a week. very slow hair growth and equally never had much underarm hair. i have course hair on my head and bikini, line but arms/legs/underarm are fine and sparse

troubg · 16/06/2023 22:58

I don't really have underarm hair. I'm fair & have never had a shadow etc.

maras2 · 16/06/2023 22:58

Why on earth does anyone look at peoples armpits?

Ponoka7 · 16/06/2023 22:58

"Do these celebrities achieve their smooth underarms through electrolysis or by getting numerous laser treatments?"

Yes and photo shop, in some cases. Two of my DD's have had laser and have had really good results, one plucks out any straggly hairs.

IDontWantToBeAPie · 16/06/2023 22:58

Laser and bleach

Kanaloa · 16/06/2023 22:59

Have you considered getting them professionally waxed, then having a photo taken in professional lighting, then having that photo doctored and perfected, then glancing at it printed on cheap magazine paper? That’s the only way you’ll get ‘celebrity’ armpits. Same as ‘celebrity’ skin, nails, teeth, hair, everything else.

I always think it’s incredibly damaging to compare yourself to celebrities. Most of the time you can’t even compare celebrities to themselves. I’ve been a few times to see plays in New York and in London and often seen very famous actors in them. Invariably you’re always shocked at how different they are. Ooh, he’s so much shorter in real life. Her hair doesn’t look half as bouncy when she’s in front of you. Who would have thought he had textured skin!

My mums like this. She can shave once a week and there's still barely anything there after 7 days.

I can shave at 9am and be hairy again by 8pm. Thanks dad.

IDontWantToBeAPie · 16/06/2023 23:00

Weirdly I have almost no leg hairs. Veyy try sparse and light but my pots and eyebrows are like the devil incarnate

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/06/2023 23:01

I never grew any. Some people don’t.

Livinginaclock · 16/06/2023 23:01

I don't have visible underarm or hair.
It's because I've epilatted for years, there's nothing particularly weird about it.
My legs and bikini line are similar.

Reugny · 16/06/2023 23:03

A mixture of genetics and photoshop.

To put it in context one of my nephews as a teen said his father, my brother, is less hairy than his mother. He then wondered why he can't grow a beard...

Anyway my body hair doesn't really show and has never showed so I shave my armpits sparingly.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 16/06/2023 23:03

I have a lumea and it only took a few sessions to get rid of my underarm hair and I am dark and pretty hairy.

DaisyWaldron · 16/06/2023 23:04

I'm another one without much underarm hair. I actually like the look of hairy underarms and tried to grow mine out, this spring, but gave up after a couple of months when I just had a weedy pale fuzz like a teenage boy's hopeful but doomed attempt at a beard.

LarryUnderwood · 16/06/2023 23:06

I've never had much underarm hair despite being quite hairy elsewhere. My underarms would always be 100% smooth as long as I'd shaved within the previous 3 days. I've now had laser so they're permanently smooth.

Floralnomad · 16/06/2023 23:07

I don’t grow underarm or leg hair , it’s something to do with my non functioning adrenals

PortiaPorcupine · 16/06/2023 23:32

@Dita73 I'm the same. Have about 4 hairs on each leg too and only by my ankles 💁‍♀️

Dita73 · 16/06/2023 23:38

I’m so glad it’s not just me! I was worried I was the human equivalent of one of those hideous hairless cats!
