Yesterday I went in to a kebab shop to get a pizza. I should preface this by saying I am aware of the heat and how uncomfortable it is for those working within kitchen environments. There were two people, a boy and a girl, who both looked about 16 working on the till. The girl was fully dressed (although in summer clothes) in short shorts and a crop top. However, the lad was wearing an apron but when he turned around I could see he just had his boxers on underneath the apron. This isn’t a one off either over the last few days I’ve seen scores of mainly teenage boys walking around topless in the heat when teenage girls seem capable of keeping fully clothed. I didn’t say anything at the time and I appreciate how warm it is. However, Aibu to think that this is an example of male entitlement that: 1) he didn’t worry whether it would make his female colleague feel uncomfortable and 2) the girl wouldn’t have been able to do that due to the risk of sexual harassment and the fact pubic nudity seems more acceptable from men than women. Aibu?

That lad would've just been trying to impress the girl, no harm done, he's just young.

Yeah - this will mean those girls putting their bum cheeks away too. That's not acceptable for men.

Ideally it means the other way round.

I remember going to Cologne in the summer and taking the cable car over the Rhine. There was some sort of spa underneath the cable car and several middle-aged German women happily sunbathing topless, zero fucks given about the busy tourits/commuter transport above them. No one batted an eyelid. Seemed a much healthier approach to nudity than the performative recoiling in this thread.

Or the mainly male dominated jobs like road maintenance where they have to wear heavy boots and hi-vis (although admitted can probably do shorts)?

Agree with most of this, particularly re office work but having spent most of this week on various building sites I have to point out that a large number of workers on these sites do seem to wear sleeveless hi-vis open with no top underneath with shorts (but admittedly also boots and hard hat).

How do you know they were boxers not shorts .which is which below?

Absolutely deliberate. Performative activism is really about getting the so-called glory of activism without having to pay any price. I don't really see how it relates to not liking half naked sweaty kebab slingers.

It honestly gives me the rage. I see overweight men walking around with their tits swinging in the wind and it's fine, but I cant despite the fact mine are smaller than theirs? Make it make sense

@gannett agree about the German approach to spas, indeed I think about ten years ago I went to said spa though the cable car was not running.

I'm thinking more of inside shops, food places etc where people should cover up to an extent. Regardless of their size and shape.

An being a bit lighthearted as I don't particularly like seeing sweaty people either despite currently being sat in an office with a visibly moist upper lip and two damp smiles under my boobs 🤣
