Recently remortgaged and the massive rate rise got us thinking. Made me wonder - what is the average people owe? Yes it depends on area/value/when bought etc. But to make it simple I'd be interested in
A) how much owed
B) your age

I'll go first! We owe £115k and I'm 31.

Do you not find these type of threads just make you feel worse? For reference- mid-thirties, no mortgage... yet.

About £160k, we're mid-late 30s. Probably a bit more than half what the house is worth.

TeenLifeMum · 30/08/2024 21:43

Surprised how low many of these are. I thought ours was lowish but clearly not.

£180k age 42

I’m surprised by all the people in their 30s who’ve paid off their mortgages. Considering so many mortgages are now 30 year terms, it seems disproportionate to reality.

Andwegoroundagain · 30/08/2024 21:45
