Do you shower twice a day on days you exercise?

Or can you manage to time it so that a post workout shower fits nicely into the rest of your day?

How do you work the timings?

I want to go to the gym tomorrow so will shower after, then go to a workshop tomorrow evening which means getting a bit grubby plus walking three miles so definitely will want to shower before bed after getting home. But my skin is so dry!

How do you arrange exercise and showering or do most people always take two showers on exercise days?

I wonder how many of the people who find they smell if they don’t shower twice a day are wearing artificial fibres. Linen rather than polyester makes a huge difference imo.

I was listening to a radio show and they were talking about the environment and how sometimes you can’t be environmentally friendly- one of the men said ‘but if you exercise at night would you not just shower straight after and leave the following morning’s shower’ and the guy and girl he was with all said how disgusting that would be and a girl texted in and said she sometimes doesn’t wash her gym clothes as she’d be wearing them running the following day and the same two screamed like it was the most disgusting thing on earth while the other guy said he saw her point. I don’t know, you try to be environmentally friendly and then you hear people like that who go to the gym and wash their gym gear daily, shower twice a day, have regular baths instead of showers and the list goes on and you just wonder how anything will change ever!!

This seems like an odd hill to die on. My exercise clothes are drenched in sweat after I wear them so or course I'll wash them before I wear them again.

And in terms of showers, well, I shower once a day if not exercising but having been on MN threads about showering, turns out my showers are much shorter than most people's. If you added up my time in the shower in a week it would probably add up to less than a lot of the people that only shower a couple of times a week. Tbh I think that's the mindset a lot of the people who are shocked at others showering every day or twice a day are coming from. Their showers are perhaps quite long, but it's really not that big a deal when you're only in there for a couple of minutes.

I am happy to see more evening shower crowd 😁

I know I prefer an evening shower by far. Nice being fresh going to bed.

Twice a day for me. In the morning to wake myself up, and in the evening because DW’s culture is to have one before going to bed.

That’s very true-I myself don’t work up enough of a sweat for it to be soaking, and I run on my own so nobody will smell me the following day!! As for the length of time in the shower, very true too, people take different lengths of time, the only thing is there’s some of us that purposely never take showers beyond the bare minimum time needed to get clean and I don’t think everyone that gets into a shower does that amount so already you’re talking 2 times an average length shower

I just shower post workout and that’s my wash for the day. Most people wash once a day, either morning or evening and this is mostly the case for me too because I usually work out either morning or early evening.
