Dh has just bought a new Kyak.

He has 2 already so said i can have to money to go shoppping with too.

I told him I want a new buggy and he moaned about it.

Ok, so I don't actually need a new buggy, the one(s) we have work perfectly well but 1 is too bulky and the wheels squeek and piss me off (I never use this one, its in teh loft), the other is old(ds3s from when he was about 5 months) and has mouldy spots on it from getting damp in the garage and the other is my lovely 3 wheeler that is used whenever I/we walk anywhere, which we do quite alot.

Its teh moudy one that I want to replace, it does get used alot because its in the car so I use it for school, shopping etc etc (3 wheeler is a pain to get in th car).

I knwo its ridiculous to want another new one but I don't want anything else, I would enjoy (yes thats right enjoy) a new buggy.
So, isn't it a abit rich of DH to moan about it when he has 2 Kyaks already and a new buggy cost 1/4 of the cost.

YANBU. I totally understand how you would enjoy a new buggy.

If Dh can have something for himself then you should also be able to get something which benefits more than one person.

ladytophamhatt · 21/02/2008 14:49

Seeee, i knew I was right

madamez · 21/02/2008 14:51

Why is he objecting to you having a new buggy, when he has bought something he wanted?

Meeely2 · 21/02/2008 14:52

would personally spend money on clothes and lots of them, but thats me!

ladytophamhatt · 21/02/2008 14:56

clothes shopping si such a faff though meeely. I never have time to stroll around the shops anymore.....

He's maoning because I've gone though alot of buggies over the years, madamez. He thinks its silly to wnat another one when the otehrs work perfectly.....
His Kyaks do differnet things () one is a surf one, another is a 3 man one, and the new one is a fishing one!

My husband is exactly the same. A while ago he bought a new guitar (he had 7 already ) and like your DH said did I want anything. So I wanted a new pram (old one too bulky to get on the bus) and he moaned. He got a mouthful back on how the hell can he justify getting a new guitar when he had 7 of the feckers. Needless to say I got my new pram and I love it!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 21/02/2008 14:59

i think he is teeny bit unreasonable; if that's what you want to spend your money on rather than a new handbag, why is he bothered?

and can i ask, are you going to change your name to ladytophunhatt?

LOL

God, I'm actully quite strangely insulted by that.

Please tell me I'm not a hun....

it might put me off my new hun mobile buggy.

Lauriefairycake · 21/02/2008 15:04

You have three buggies, stop being hunnish weird

Buy new handbag, new shoes, facial, girly stuff instead

ladytophamhatt · 21/02/2008 15:06

RR, he's been talking about the bloody thing for weeks, almost waiting fro me to tell me to go and buy it, like he needed permission.

OP posts:
ladytophamhatt · 21/02/2008 15:07

TBH I would chuck out the mouldy one, sell the one in the loft and just go and buy a new buggy!

But that's me!!

LadybirdG · 21/02/2008 15:09

lol at hun

ladytophamhatt · 21/02/2008 15:10

i will sell the one in the loft, just need to get round to doing it.

Meeely2 · 21/02/2008 15:16

as part of the deal of buying the kyak he should give you a day off the kids - then you can go shopping faff free....OR get money in bank account and buy clothes online!

I used to get excited about buggies but even then if DH had offered me £150 i would not have dashed out and bought the new nipper....haircut, nails and new outfit, job done!

laundrylover · 21/02/2008 15:19

Just stick your old buggy on MN 'for sale' hun.

I don't understand the 'buggy lust' thing that some women have , but agree - if your DH can splash out on multiple Kayaks, you should be able to spend a bit on something you want, too. YANBU.

mummydoc · 21/02/2008 16:07

i might be mistaken but do you mean that ds is now 3 ? if so do you really need a buggy ? make him walk and spend money on self or invest it

ladytophamhatt · 21/02/2008 16:56

no, ds3 is 4.4 yrs

ds4 is 13 months.....

OP posts:
crokky · 21/02/2008 17:03

if you just want something to stick in the boot of the car, presumably, a cheap little umbrella stroller will be fine? i got a little maclaren for £40 something. a kyak sounds much more expensive! anyway bin the mouldy one.

ladytophamhatt · 21/02/2008 17:25

it is a maclaren I want, chokky.

That's mums and dads for you.

He buys himself a boat.

You choose a buggy! ie child related.

Don't let the new one get mouldy and get rid of the one you don't use.

platesmasher · 21/02/2008 17:35

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like he's going to need a nice sea kayak too to complete the set.
