My 54 year old partner is taking part in a town parade today. The group he is involved with have cowboy costumes. I have no issue with this- although, l am cringing at a grown man dressing up for parade around the town. He has a beard and came over to my place this morning and l was shocked to see that he had shaved most of his beard and left a ridiculous looking moustache- like Seth Dingle from Emmerdale. I think it's a step too far. It's different if its a charity event but it's not. Apparently, he will shave if off after the parade. I feel like throwing in the towel as lm feeling that he must be lacking in some way to go to this effort. Am l being unreasonable?

Sounds like you don't know how to have a laugh!

The man's just having fun and getting involved in the community spirit like many others I'm sure

He can have all the fun he wants and is entitled to go out and have a laugh. I'm not disagreeing with that.

Its the desperate need for recognition of participating that l don't understand. It's like he needs this for his esteem or something. The mustache thing is him trying to fit in better l think. It's not your normal dress up for the day and have fun- it's more to him...

Goodness, projection much.
