Most women hoover above toilet seat in public toilets to pee?

I was out this weekend and had to use the toilet to pee. I normally hoover above toilet seat to pee in public toilets and was thinking to myself this is difficult especially if I need to do a long pee🙈😂 Is this what most women do too or am I being extra germ conscious and should just wipe the seat and sit down? Sorry if tmi but I'm just curious

For the hoverers out there. Just to add to your paranoia

That's one knowledgeable dog there

Love it! 😀

I used to do this until my Dyson got too unwieldy to lug round the shopping mall so now I just take a dustpan and brush instead.

😂😂

Ifeelsuchafool · 08/06/2023 20:27

I used to hover before COVID but always lifted the seat before doing so, I mean, why wouldn't you??? Some older people or kids literally can't hover and why would you risk peeing on a seat others have to sit on??
Since COVID, I go nowhere without wipes and hand sanitiser so always wipe the seat before and after peeing (respect for the person following). Unless it's a particularly grubby loo, then I go and find another! 🤣

I never hover over the seat. Haven't caught anything horrific yet.

Me neither. My Mum always used to say you’re more likely to get a urine infection from not emptying your bladder properly hovering. So never do and have been fine. I do look before I sit and wipe the seat if needed.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/06/2023 20:32

I sit down. I'm unaware of anything nefarious that could penetrate my generous arse cheeks, so I'd rather be comfortable 😉

browneyes77 · 08/06/2023 20:34

I’ve never hovered.

I just cover the front part of the seat with toilet paper.

Reigateforever · 08/06/2023 20:56

I take some loo paper and lift the seat up and then I hover and when I have finished I take another few sheets of paper replace and the seat and flush.

Ilovecleaning · 08/06/2023 20:56

In future, spend literally 5 seconds to proof read before posting.

EasterBreak · 08/06/2023 21:11

I wipe the seat with tissue and sit down. My knees wouldn't appreciate me hovering now 🤣 fuck it.

HoneybeesAndBluebells · 08/06/2023 21:18

I sit but if the toilet seat looks especially grim I'd place some loo roll down.
I don't lick the back of my legs.

So you don’t want your thighs to touch the toilet seat, but touching the seat and toilet paper before and after you pee with your hands is great and fine?

What on earth is the logic there? Yuck, that toilet seat is dirty, I can’t sit on that! Better lift it and play with toilet paper around it and then piss hovering over it then touch it again.

Blueink · 08/06/2023 21:22

I wipe the seat before and after and wash my hands as others have said

Please don’t hover above an unlifted seat especially it’s antisocial, had a few disturbing toilet experiences caused by hover accidents left for the next person

Hovering also not good for complete bladder emptying which can cause urine infections

When I hover if there are any drips on the seat I wipe them up. The first night in a hotel bed makes my skin crawl . Thinking of who slept here before me. I'm weird I know 😂 judging by reply's to my post

@summerfinn
It is foul to be leaving your urine on the seat because you're worried about germs. That is the most selfish thing I've heard all day. It doesn't matter if you wipe it afterwards. It's you who are being filthy, not the people before you.

MrsMiddleMother · 08/06/2023 21:54

Always sit down properly

Wantosleep39 · 08/06/2023 21:57

I hover but I am so good at it. There won’t be any splash on the seat. Even for long wees. I go very close tilt my bottom backwards and it works 😂 it takes a lot of practice 💪💪

Oldgardener · 08/06/2023 22:00

Sit down. Why not?

Sigmama · 08/06/2023 22:03

Has anyone explained the logic of the hover, sorry hnrtht

Sigmama · 08/06/2023 22:03

Hnrtwt

JaceLancs · 08/06/2023 22:04

I never hover - if it’s grim I wipe before I sit diwn

T1Dmama · 08/06/2023 22:05

I admit to being a bit germophobic so I apply hand sanitiser and wipe it

Pepsi2001 · 08/06/2023 22:17

I take wet wipes in my bag and clean the seat first then sit down. I don't have the energy to hover x

HerbsandSpices · 08/06/2023 22:29

I know this is about public toilets but how do you get on if you're camping and there's no toilet (and it's a hike in, so no, you won't be carrying a camping toilet, just a small shovel)? You have to hover. Never had a UTI and my pelvic floor is just fine doing this.

You would squat, not hover. At least I presume. And either way it’s hardly a daily or even regular event for most people to have to go to the toilet on a hike.

crazyaboutcats · 08/06/2023 22:38

I hate the hooverers and no one did it no one would need too!
