Is he just being 'nice'?

The other night the guy who lives over the road (who also happens to be gorgeous & single) randomly knocked on my door & asked for a first aid kit for his son who had a minor accident. I gave him what I had (bandages & tape). That was the first time we have ever really spoken. Today I was surprised to find on my porch a brand new first aid kit & a lovely note attached thanking me. It definitely put a smile on my face.

My question is what should I do in return? & am I being unreasonable to think this could be more than a kind neighbourly gesture? Or is he just being nice?

I've been on my own for so long I've forgotten how to interact or properly judge any situation involving the male species 😂

There isn't a whole story yet! But we bumped into each other I thanked him then we got to talking, for about half an hour! Then he asked for my number and invited us round when his son is over next so the kids can play.
So lovely 😊

You could shag him really hard?

(A lot more fun than saying 'thanks' Grin)

Plot twist. He injured his son to create a credible story!

😂 dedicated to the cause

I'm so happy with your update OP, i wasn't keen on the miserable comments of he was just being neighbourly 😂

Me neither. Jeez some of these posters are dead inside.

Do keep us posted!! 😄😄

Crabbyk · 07/06/2023 21:35

Well you just wouldn’t know would you? If you like him I’d suggest inviting son over for play dates to get to know him better if you can.

Oh dear OP. Read what you want to into it. But cynical old me just sees it as yet another man trying to foist his kid onto another woman. I think he just wants childcare TBH.

Babsexxx · 08/06/2023 06:37

Ooooo he definitely likes you absolutely no way would I disturb a neighbour for a minor issue claiming my kid needed a bandage/plaster etc I would of just got straight on deliveroo and held a cold compress definitely made a excuse to strike up conversation!!

Oh dear probably right….🫣

Irked · 08/06/2023 10:33

Replacing a first aid kit is just good manners/being neighbourly.

If he's asked for your number and you've given it to him, then he'll send you a text/call if he's interested and you can say yes or no.

If you're interested, you can give him a call and he can say yes or no.

Wishimaywishimight · 08/06/2023 10:48

I bet the text will be "X (son) enjoyed playing with your daughter the other day, perhaps he could call over for a playdate soon?"

anniepanniepears123 · 08/06/2023 10:53

Ohh how exciting

JosieOhNo · 08/06/2023 11:12

Tell him the kids don't want a play date but you do!

moominmummie · 05/06/2023 21:16

@Gingergirl70 that's exactly why I will probably just say thank you hope your son is ok now. It's safer.

What else would you say?
If a man likes you he will usually make it known and make a move.

Also if he's "gorgeous" he will assume it's okay to do that and not be shy. So I'd just wait.

Beluowens · 08/06/2023 14:35

Ooh!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the start of something....
Keep us updated (and ignore the just being neighbourly etc comments)

1992H · 08/06/2023 14:49

Ahh well this is just lovely! Good luck, however it works out new friends are always a bonus

Mbop · 08/06/2023 15:58

Oh do keep us updated ❤️❤️

Chocolatelabradorsarethebest · 08/06/2023 16:25

Aww, nice to see a positive response from you/other posters for a change!

I can see how this would easily have been 'my neighbour that I've never met before came over and borrowed a first aid kit. He's now sent a flirty message and when I bumped into him asked for my number. Why are all men so sleazy and think every woman is interested in them?' There would be pages and pages of derogatory comments about him!

User0311 · 08/06/2023 16:29

I love this thread!! Commenting to see updates

Valour · 08/06/2023 16:36

Loving that those who haven't rtft are being shown up as misery guts here! Tell us everything OP! How did he ask? Did you blush awkwardly? What's he LIKE??
