Am I a Mooncup minger?

I use a Mooncup (actually a Boots copy one, but that’s beside the point). When I empty it, I pour the contents into the loo, then wash it out in the bathroom sink next to the toilet. Whenever I wash it out I think to myself that DP would probably find it gross that I’m washing it out where he washes his face/brushes his teeth etc. He could also walk in at any second, as we never lock the bathroom door, so there’s always the fear that I’m going to be outed as a Mooncup minger. Tbh he might think it’s a non-event.

I COULD turn the other way and wash it out in the bath, but that seems a bit overkill. Also… what do people do in their downstairs loos (which I don’t have)?!

So…

YABU - you’re a minger and should wash it out in the bath.

YANBU - it’s a normal bodily function (/fluid 😂) and it’s fine to wash it out in the sink.

You’re being daft. You use the sink to wash your hands with the same bodily fluids on without any thought. Your moon cup is no different.

Lol. I meant rinse it in the loo first before cleaning it properly in the sink 😊. I’m not of the Mooncup generation so maybe I need more explanation 😍

A mooncup goes inside a woman’s vagina to catch menstrual blood. I wouldn’t recommend rinsing anything with toilet water that you then plan on inserting inside yourself. Even if you do rinse with tap water after 😂

To be honest I wouldn’t do this with anything I planned to wear on the outside of my body either. Or just anything at all. The toilet flush rinses the toilet bowl. Nothing else.

Well I MUST be a minger, because I don't tend to rinse it every time I empty and reinsert it! I might if I was at home but I certainly don't when out and about.😆 Menstrual blood isn't minging, it's not germy or foul. I just tip it in the loo, put back in, it's fine. OP is massively overthinking this.

You mean, you don’t wash your plates in the toilet? 🤣

I think you win, you cook your beans in the same pan you wash your moon cup in 🤮. I mean since having kids I can shrug pretty gross stuff off, this is just all kinds of minging. Imagine an episode of come dine with me where the host takes her mooncup off the hob, gives the pan a swill before getting on with the white sauce in the same pan 🤣. Buy a cheap pan ew

But... WHY?
If the pan is cleaned afterwards what difference does it make? Do you think period blood can magically cling to pans in a way that survives the dishwasher/washing up?

Amen to this. Only if your fingers are dirty would this pose a problem.

It’s also the same hands you’re using to insert a moon cup, wash the moon cup, wipe your bum and then prepare food with.
What’s the different between washing a saucepan thoroughly and washing your hands thoroughly?

This. I eatmeat, so my pans have been in contact with the blood and flesh of various animals. In fact they're less likely to be in contact with my blood from boiling a washed moon up in it. And importantly, I wash pans well after each use, regardless of what was in it last. I wouldn’t want to use a pan if it still had the remains of baked beans or chicken in white sauce or oxtail soup or whatever was last in it. A cleaned pan where I'm heating stuff up to boiling should be fine.
