I'll go first. I love puzzles. Every time I get a piece that fits I'll celebrate with three little taps on the piece with my fingernail. Every time. It must be infuriating to witness.

I also crack my toes and wrist joints which does drive dh crazy. I do my best not to in his presence, so not exactly done unashamedly..

Laugh too loudly.
Twiddle my nose piercing, which DD says looks like I’m picking my nose.
Do supressed burps, which probably aren’t as supressed as I hope.

Me too. I'm on a constant mission to find the perfect organisation solution. (I'm actually not that tidy, somehow I've convinced myself that I just have to find the right way to oragnise our things and then it will all fall into place). And then I get irritated that OH doesn't put things in the right places but I can hardly blame him. 😆

@MyUsernameIsBetterThanYours

if you really want a solution???

you need to declutter. You can't itganuse your way out if too much stuff . Sorry.

watch some of Dana K Whites you tubes. she Explains her method. Progress & only progress (so you never make a big mess! & 'container concepts'.

if you have trouble finding them PM me & I can help. Alternatively she has podcasts & books.

I have an irrestible urge to rearrange dishwashers. It's like a compulsion especially when it comes to the cutlery section - why anyone would not seperate the knives, forks, spoons into each section so they can be emptied properly & quickly baffles me!

It drives my partner mad - he just chucks things in any old way and thinks I'm bonkers.

Very relaxed about everything else.

@IAteAllTheTomatoes I don't have a DW & when I get one, it's going to have the top cutlery tray so they all line up neatly & woe betide anyone not following the rules.

However, when I load one with a cutlery basket I mix the cutlery up because I find it cleans them better as they don't 'nest'

I too am very specific about how items are placed in the dishwasher drawers. But put the cutlery in the basket in any old order because I'm sure I read in the original instructions that it was better to do it that way. It irks me every time though and emptying the cutlery basket is the bit I hate. Going to check now whether I've got that wrong...

Smartstuffed · 03/06/2023 20:55

I didn't imagine it... it's best to avoid cutlery 'nesting' (or maybe it should be called spooning).

RandomisedRebel · 03/06/2023 21:26

Apparently I breathe in a weird way. When I inhale, I hold my breath, and then do a loud exhale 🤷 this is news to me - via my partner (who thinks it's acceptable to scratch his balls/arse in public and sit/stand with his hands down his pants constantly 😤)

I tap the backs of books when I am reading them with my fingers. It makes a really satisfying noise which plays to my mild OCD.

It’s probably really irritating to be around.

On the other hand if we all pandered to the off the chart levels of misophonia which people seem to have these days we would all be rigid and immobile when in public spaces for fear of triggering someone and life is too short.

Omg I do this too! Agree, it makes an extremely satisfying sound. Done it all my life, drives my family mad but I can't help it....fully entrenched now. 😊

Bk1000 · 03/06/2023 21:35

I eat nice juicey apples with giant loud bites. It must be horrible to hear but I just can’t help it 🤣

When I put the cutlery away in the tray in the drawer, the dessert spoons must not be mixed up with (say) the forks, in case they argue. Each to its own slot.

If the TV/radio/device I am listening to has a volume control with a numerical value, it has to be set at a number ending in either 0, 5 or an even. No odd numbers (bar 5). I have to check and adjust it accordingly or I can't relax. Don't ask why. DH thinks I'm batshit. 😂

Did I already accidentally respond to this post or are there 2 of us? 😅
EXACTLY the same. Evens or 5s and God help anyone who tries to put it on 13!

UnctuousUnicorns · 03/06/2023 22:13

TheGorgeousBees is the same, there's three of us! 😂

Iprefergin · 03/06/2023 22:20

Sometimes when I'm about to get out of a lift, if I'm alone I press a bunch of buttons so it'll stop randomly on the way down

EnoughEnoughnow · 03/06/2023 22:33

Interrupt. Sing loudly.

When my partner yawns I stick my finger between his teeth just to annoy him but only every couple of months or so, when he least expects it!

Same ! If someone turns my car radio to 17 it makes me 🤢
Also both sides of car heater have to be the same.

caringcarer · 03/06/2023 23:15

I sometimes sing along to the radio in the car and for some reason it drives DS nuts.

caringcarer · 03/06/2023 23:16

JudgeJ · 03/06/2023 12:57

Guilty as charged, well over 70 too.
When reading about how horrible we boomers are and how we should give up our homes to go and live in a tent, and all the other anti-boomer comments, I sit here and think how lucky we were to be such annoying people!

😂😂

Four! We are legion! (At least it's an even number - so far...)

Vitriolinsanity · 04/06/2023 01:10

This whole anti boomer thing is such bollocks. I'm 54 and got lucky in property in the 90's. The difference being we saved [gasp] for a deposit, accepted we'd have hand me down couches and white goods and sacrificed kids, holidays and cheap food until the finances got better.

coxesorangepippin · 04/06/2023 01:38

Enthusiastically suggest meeting up- but then never actually follow through with it.

I'm flaky

I love the idea of meeting up, but just CBA most of the time

Furries · 04/06/2023 03:09

LadyGrinningSoul85 · 03/06/2023 14:22

And before anyone suggests that I think boomers should be homeless.
No, but they don't need 4 bed houses.
Downsize.
Not that they will, because a lot are inherently entitled and selfish.

There, I said it. I don't give a shit how anyone responds as I won't be back to this thread to read it, so knock yourselves out 💁🏼‍♀️👋

Am browsing random stuff as can’t sleep tonight.

These types of posts always make me laugh. They are basically:

I’m going to be deliberately offensive/provocative. I will imply that anyone who disagrees is some form of xyz unreasonable. And I’m not coming back because your opinions aren’t worth my time - so there!”

You can bet your bottom dollar that those posters are still reading the thread to see how many people they’ve riled up. Weird mindset, , but whatever floats your boat.

I’m not a boomer, but ageism on this site is pretty rife.

Ignore texts/what's app messages.

Ah my son is on MN

My aunt used to stick her finger in people's mouths when they yawned. Until I decided to bite her because she was pissing me off.

This…

To ask what irritating things do you unashamedly do?
doingitforyorkshire · 04/06/2023 08:13

I faff with my pen, watch TV with the volume off, tidy around people constantly, and am very pragmatic, which can drive people mad sometimes.

doingitforyorkshire · 04/06/2023 08:16

Oh, I forgot, ignore texts/messages too, you want me, you ring me, you know where I am. Not a very popular approach in this day and age.
