To think Phillip schofield scandal is homophobia?

ivfregret · 01/06/2023 00:00

Have I missed something in that the guy Philip had the affair with was not a minor?

He was a minor when they met, as was Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne for example and no one has anything bad to say about that relationship.

I'm not sticking up for Philip and really dislike him, and also think even if the runner was above the age of consent is most definitely questionable behaviour but I can't help think of it was a heterosexual affair it would not be treated in the same way?

PS: Disgusting of him to bring in Caroline's name for clout.

dancinginthesky · 02/06/2023 17:21

So are we meant to believe Eamonn and Ruth who are still in contact with the young man or Philip who claims they're still friendly but he hasn't spoken to him (conveniently) but somehow knows the man just want's everything to go away cos he sounded a lot like he was telling everyone how the man is thinking for someone who hasn't spoken with him 🤔🤔🤔

I'm sure the man would prefer not to be doxxed and not discussed as a vulnerable person with a lot of problems over everything but how does Philip know he isn't glad Philip and ITV being exposed? It's all of the people who are speaking out from the show who've spread things he might be embarrassed about on TV calling him these things. The public don't seem to be saying anything cruel about him because they see him as a victim and are angry for him

The same person who went for CF in the press is now going for PS. It’s nothing more than a witch hunt for some people.

What has one thing got to do with another? What’s the first thing got to do with me?

And who said she was a martyr? Thinking it’s disgusting that someone who has acted badly is bringing up someone else’s suicide to get sympathy isn’t making a martyr out of anyone.

It doesn’t have anything to do with you but plenty of others are calling him a pedophile.

Caroline Flack acted badly, was vilified, and she killed herself.

PS acted badly, is being vilified and is feeling the pressure of being pushed to the brink.

It’s entirely relevant that a huge light was shone on social media bullying and vilification and how it affects celebrities when people think their words aren’t damaging or won’t be seen. It’s like we’ve learnt nothing. Caroline Flack took her own life because of a situation PS is facing. Perfectly comparable to uSe hEr nAMe

Who is exaggerating anything? I am not.

My point still stands. He could have talked about low he felt. Her name didn’t need to come up.

Agree, feels very manipulative and no consideration given to her family.

I do not like PS and haven't for years but suicide is, of course, an absolute tragedy and I wouldn't like to think he felt that was the only option, so I think it was right of him to talk about his feelings (but without naming someone else).

What just popped into my head there was the difference between how PS is (by some) being talked about, ie the hounding by the media, his MH, 'be kind' etc, yet when Meghan Markle said she felt suicidal after being hounded (still have no idea what she has meant to have done - steal a Prince?) she was scoffed at, ridiculed and called every name under the sun.

So yes, I completely agree with PP this is nothing to do with homophobia and everything to do with misogyny.

Liars and manipulators bounce ideas off one another even when they don't like one other.

I don’t know why you think it’s ok because it’s a comparable situation.

I didn’t say it wasn’t comparable. That’s still doesn’t make it ok for him to bring her up. He didn’t need to.

I don’t understand your thinking, that because 2 situations are vaguely similar then that makes it ok.

Yes we have established some people are calling him a peadophile. No one denied that. But following your comments back it has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted. Or why you keep telling me about people doing this.

GenXsurvivor · 02/06/2023 19:38

Tbh I’m feeling pretty uncomfortable about the amount of SM posts literally almost rubbing their hands in glee at the thought of PS topping himself.

They don’t have to post words to that effect but to keep on jabbing away, calling him all sorts, well they might as well be there waiting with their friends in the baying crowd while he gets virtually hung. In fact this is the modern day hanging isn’t it, except everyone sits at their corner table, tapping away furiously!

Until an investigation has been conducted, then everyone needs to leave it be.

And just for the record, I’m not supporting PS, I just think that SM is a viper’s nest.

Even poor Caroline Flack’s Mum has commented.

Meghan's rough treatment isn't due to misogyny. Nor is it due to racism, although there were some racist slurs. To understand what happened, read 'Spare'. The Palace is a powerful machine and manipulates the press for its own ends.

Elior · 02/06/2023 20:33

PS is playing the homophobia card in the same way she played those cards. And they both did that manipulative thing about wanting to end it as a way of stopping discussion.

notanotheroneagain · 02/06/2023 21:00

What?

Not only is Meghan not involved in any same sex cheating on her husband, but she has never been discovered as grooming some kid.

You are chatting absolute shite.

LifeIsPainHighness · 02/06/2023 14:08

I must be watching a different video.

They both look fine.

The boyfriend doesn’t look like he’s being held captive or like some flory idiot who doesn’t know what a confetti canon is.

Schfield, a famous man, is openly in public with another person.

The boyfriend isn’t exactly sitting on his knee smooching him. They aren’t behaving intimately.

Nothing to see here.

PS admitted he lied and the he told the truth. He could have taken his affair to the death like many celebs before him. But he didn’t. Can’t knock him for that really.

Did you not think boyfriend looked about 15? Did nothing in the video make you feel uncomfortable?

Summerfun2023 · 02/06/2023 21:38

Back to PA who has gotten away with it. At least the young man was old enough to start a relationship however PA who used a sex trafficked young girl wasn't. The press can bring you up and bring you back down you were the story now you are the story.

The Palace is a powerful machine and manipulates the press for its own ends.

They stopped that reoccurring story about PA. MM and what she went through with the press the royal family wanted to keep their money so they had to make the public happy. Loyal Royalists will say I am wrong and I am the one with the problem.

PlantingMarigolds · 02/06/2023 22:23

Yes it would be less if a scandal because if sexism. I don't think it's homophobia

Is a same sex affair worse than an opposite sex affair?

No one is saying shes any of those things but she had a story to sell for personal gain, said she was suicidal and had no help available, which for every day suicidal non-billionaires relying on pitiful NHS waiting lists, is fucking offensive. She has the best private healthcare going. THAT’S why people were angry at her woe-is-me act. Their tone deaf interview was excruciating. They put themselves in the spotlight doing it, you can’t complain at not getting 100% support.

FlipFlopsInMyCar · 02/06/2023 21:37

No.

It was 2 men having lunch.

The runner in question was 19/20. Doesn’t matter how old he looked on a grainy far away video. He was quite a few years above the age of consent.

Doesnt mean the age gap doesn’t give me the ick - but PS was not out on the town with a child. Nothing for him to panic about and I doubt he took the risk of begging some random Tik Toker not to post a video in which absolutely nothing seems to happen

Right, because straight male celebrities grooming women and girls has never been ignored. 🙄

This talk of grooming is getting on my nerves. Do people even know what grooming is?

He knew a child was being groomed and sexually abused by a paedophile.

No wonder people are scrutinising the sexual relationship that developed with a child he initially met at 15.

I think it’s homophobic to assume that grooming is acceptable in homosexual relationships.

Well said.

Boomshock · 03/06/2023 02:36

ivfregret · 01/06/2023 00:06

I think it would be less of a scandal yes

The reason it's so much of a scandal is because a lot of people knew about it for ages, it was all over the internet long before he admitted it. All the media knew and would have wanted to print the story.
A lot of people who knew about it have been annoyed by his presence on TV and waiting for the scandal to hit, so a lot of people are happy it finally has.

What he did was disgusting. And it's nothing to do with homophobia.

Boomshock · 03/06/2023 02:41

Wish there was an edit button.
People were not just annoyed, they were disgusted. The rumour for a long time was that he groomed that boy. Then his brother got convicted. Then Phil said "I no longer have a brother" even though Phil knew about what happened and said nothing. People were furious at the hypocrisy and sick of him polishing his halo.

PosseGalore · 03/06/2023 02:53

One thing I have been baffled by for years was why Schofield and Holly seemed to appear on every show goi g. I watched Google sprigs on Netflix tonight and even one of the kids on there said the same. That sort of power is bound to cause problems.

I wouldn't bother reasoning with obsessed Sussex Squad posters who have wandered over from the Royal Board because they saw the initials MM.
