Does everyone get moths/mice?

Gah! Just spent a winter dealing with mice and moths. Just spent an afternoon realising I need to throw away a few bin bags full of stored clothes because of the mothy bastards. How common is it to always be having to deal with these things? Am I particularly minging?

There was a thread recently about carpet moths and parasitic wasps were suggested. I googled them and they sound effective - they're tiny but target the moth larvae and lay their own eggs in them, which hatch even more wasps to eat the moth larvae. Sounds a bit gruesome but too small to notice (hopefully!)

Not sure I want to be infested with wasps either! Think I'll try the smoke bomb.

We constantly have mice and moths. I have those poison boxes behind the kick boards and replace them every so often.

About to smoke bomb the house as moths are reappearing. Have had to replace all our carpets with synthetic as they ruined the wool ones.

@ArcticBells The moths are SO tiny you can't see them and barely see them when they exit the packet they hatch from. About the size of a full stop.

Sorry the WASPS not moths are so tiny

Thankfully we’ve never had mice in the house, unless they were dead. (We have 3 cats, 2 of whom are excellent hunters.)

I would recommend having a cat, though I know that this isn’t a guarantee as not all cats are good hunters. Our cat number 3 is useless. He catches mice but can’t hold onto them.

My MIL had a problem with mice. She kept using mouse traps, with limited success as it didn’t solve the problem. She had to find the point of entry they were using and block it off. She no longer has mice now.

We haven’t had a problem with moths either, so I can’t comment on that.

It sounds awful, OP, and I hope you find a solution.
