Feel this way about the death of Andy Rourke of The Smiths. They are one of my favourite bands of all time and just listening to them now. He was such a talented musician, he's the same age as my father, and I feel sad knowing he had such a cruel disease.

Not a celebrity as such but the Queen's passing affected me. I'm 60 and she had just always been there. I still don't automatically think 'Camilla' when I hear 'The Queen' mentioned on tv.

It really threw me when Peaches Geldof died. I thought about it for ages, it was just so tragic and I was so upset because she seemed to have gotten her life in order and be happy.

Then I found out about how she died and I was reeling and devastated

It’s the utter waste of it all. How the demons affect generations, how deeply traumatised she must have been after the loss of her mother and the tragedy that her children have lost theirs so young and with likely very little, if any, memory of her.

Olivia Newton John - I didn’t know much about her but Grease was a film I rewatched throughout my childhood. My sadness was probably more due to that.

And although it was years before my time-James Dean. What a gorgeous man with a bright future. My mum said she went to school the next day and all the girls were in bits crying.

In the same vein Paul Walker . Beautiful man .

Sir Terry Wogan

he just seemed to always around and was always so comforting to listen to on the radio and would often think of my lovely grandparents when listening to him

I was surprised at how upset I was
