Sooooo. This is a lighthearted thread obviously.

I’m singing along to ‘Made you Look’ complete with vocal ornaments and pretending I’ve got a mic and head set.

I am a TRULY dreadful singer. It’s shocking. My family joke how I’m good to have to disprove the stereotype that black women are amazing singers.

However in my head someone is going to hear this fucking cacophony one day and be, like, ‘MERRY! What an amazing as yet unrecognised talent’ and I’ll be propelled to super stardom.

Surely I’m not alone in this bollocks?

With you OP. I cannot carry a tune in a bucket. In the comfort of my car however let me introduce you to Beyoncé me. I'm the one at the lights belting it out.

OK I went to a busted concert (when I was older, a reunion concert) and was absolutely certain that James was going to recognise me (from through the TV when I was 7?) and drag me up on stage amd kiss me.
Well, it didn't happen and James, I've never gotten over you xx 😉

I delude myself I look great at the gym doing squats. And many more things.

In my head, I'm still thin and 23. And definitely an amazing singer!

I make lists of tasks I need to do admittedy not urgent. I make a long detailed list for my day off and tell myself I will get through it in a couple of hours. I don't.

I have sung at a night with Aretha Franklin and she was moved to tears by my version of Never Loved a Man, Celine Dione won’t share a stage with me and Adele often cites me as being the one who made her want to sing

I delude myself that I look much younger than I am. I’m always a little surprised when I don’t get asked for ID buying alcohol 😂

Car karaoke is a daily occurrence for me!

I can sing in tune (mostly) but I definitely do not have a nice voice! The kids tell me off for spoiling songs, but I don't care. I like singing and I'll sing if I want to! 😂

I’m still young and turn heads.
I haven’t turned heads in a few years and I’m always shocked these days when I see photos of myself. When did I get so wrinkly?!

That I'm still 24, a size 6, incredibly fit and supple with long blonde hair and look fabulous. Instead, I'm 51, 16 stone, disabled and can't even walk to the corner shop without a walking stick.

I try to feed my imagination by listening to early 90s club hits as I'm hobbling along! It's the little wins!!

I think we’re all winning at life.

I had a really good sing and feel nice and uplifted.

I'm just waiting to be discovered. Family and friends assume I can't sing because I never allow them to hear my 'raw talent'. The world is not ready for the absolute belters I can drop. So for now, my talent is only displayed for my kids and the car.

If I'm home, and I decide that the entire street needs to wonder 'wow where is that voice coming from?' I open the garden doors get my cleaning gear ready and it's just like listening to an a lister at the o2, with dance moves. Ya know, I'm a triple threat.

I delude myself about my age. I'm 46 and keep telling myself I'm still young. In reality, I'm over half way through my life. One minute you're young and wondering what to do with your life, then you blink and it's virtually over. It's just unbelievable how quickly life goes.

That I'm slim and that the very slow dog walk will balance out the biscuits!!

I am the best dancer in the world and I an going to be discovered moving amazingly gracefully in the street by the maitre of National Ballet like Posy in Ballet Shoes...

We have a long thin corridor at work and (when no one is looking obvs) I do a 90s high knee super model strut down it. I'm Linda Evangelista in my head, Weston super Mare donkey in reality.

I’ve given several Oscar-winning speeches in the shower. Usually thanking my celebrity boyfriend for supporting me.

I have an amazing voice - in my head! I actually sound like a cat’s chorus. Someone once said to me ‘you know when your voice sounds good to you, but you can’t really hear yourself…’ that’s me.
In my head I’m also 25, with no health issues and ready to party! Reverse the digits, add about 100 ailments and you’re there.

I also have a stunning singing voice alone in my car.

I’m an amazing dancer, and don’t look ridiculous doing my sexy dancing moves in my mid 50s!

In my 20s I was super athletic. I now do basically no exercise but in my head I still think of myself as a super fit athlete. Yesterday I noticed I got breathless crossing a road.
